To be fair.. I remember getting stuck in the Forest of Illusion as a kid..
I'd be willing to bet that if the internet existed as it did now when that game originally came out, you would see just as many stupid people then.
Relevant, though everyone has probably read it:

Reminds me of the flying boss in the desert in Shadow of the Colossus that you have to ride your horse up alongside and jump out onto, so awesome

no lie, forest of illusion got me as a kid.
however, i just finished a SMW marathon myself to see how my memory serves me (also out of sheer rage at those spoiled kids), beat the game w/ a 90/96.even after completing star road and the gnarly levels to get the alternate world. Totally forgot what i was missing.
I got stuck in Jabu Jabu's belly in OoT as a kid and me and my younger brother had to search our neighborhood (knocking on doors) for a kid who could walk us through the one part of the puzzle we were missing.... Seems forever ago.
The worst thing about 100%'ing Mario games is those stupid alternate exits that lead to secret levels that you've already beaten via some other secret alternate-exit route. Especially when the map terrain implies no such path exists (lots of animated crap moving around). New Super Mario Bros. U was pretty bad with this. I had to go back and rummage for 3 pointless secret exits to 5-star my save file after I had already 100%'d every level.
This room, from Bottle Grotto in Link's Awakening.. this was the bane of my childhood... Stupid BowWow...

It was the order thing, I don't know why, but it took a long time to think there might be an order to kill the enemies.. Stupid 8-year old me >.>

I really don't understand all the hate for how the new Xbox looks. Honestly, I think it's one of the best looking consoles -- if not the best. As much as I love my n64, I'd rather have this:
in my living room, under my TV for people to see, rather than this:
Aesthetically, the PS3 was the best looking of the consoles this generation, and going forward I wouldn't be surprised if the PS4 is a similar black box.
