    CO-SPONSOR THE ANTI-CORRUPTION ACT

This is making the rounds and was wondering what the good community of BG thinks on this. I read it and think its a good step forward. (If it ever passes)

Give it a read if you agree then Co-Sponsor the Anti-Corruption Act

    http://anticorruptionact.org/

The website is a lot more clear on what the Act is all about.

I recognize some of their spokespeople, but it's kind of hard to trust an anticorruption campaign that has hidden its finances so successfully.

Sad part is that this only brings to mind the revolutionists in Les Miserables. This is a great notion and everything but the vast majority of people just don't give a shit or are too afraid to try and stand up to the government corruption we live with every day. Props to the people who show up but don't be surprised when you get abandoned by the rest of the country. Especially in the wake of finding out that the FBI were potentially branding occupy participants as terrorists and not informing Occupy leaders in TX that there was an assassination plot against them brewing.

Require SuperPACs to abide by the same contribution limits as other political committees.
    Citizen's United says no.
Create a “cooling off” period on private employment that will last 5 years for all Congress members and all senior staff (currently 2 years in the Senate, 1 year in the House, and 1 year for senior staff.)
Get Tyven in here - 5 years of no private employment for former congressional staffers? Seems pretty fucking extreme.
Build up the influence voters by creating a biennial $100 Tax Rebate that they can use to make qualified contributions to federal candidates, political parties, and political committees.
God I've been saying this for years. Also LOL at the weird grammatical mistake in that sentence.

    It's not a bad effort.

It'll get nowhere, but it's not a bad effort.

http://unitedrepublic.org/about/major-donors Looks to be the funding, but I'm not sure the reporting rules for 501(c)4 (which they state they are)

    This so god damn much.

I asked a few people in my work place about some of the crap the government is pulling and they just shrug their shoulders saying "if it happens it happens" . After an hour of trying to point out what is most likely to happen when it happens they just do not care. I got so frustrated i left work early.

Apathy won't change anything, but neither will constantly being mad at the government with no representative willing to change anything. The problem goes both ways.
