Wow no night or weather in forza? GT has had that since 3 or 4 I think. Some of my favorite tracks are night tracks.

the reason you have to connect every 24h is so MS can tell you if you are still allowed to play your games or not. According to rumors about reports from retailers, there's a database that, if you sell a game, it gets scanned, and next time you connect online it deletes the license from your xbox. Or if you want to 'lend' your game to someone who has been a friend for 30 days, then your xbox has to know to delete the license. They have fully and completely embraced the "buying a disc doesn't mean you own the game, you are just using it on our terms or not at all" approach, and it's a load of horseshit.

3rd parties are doing this now, and you will see this start happening on Playstation as well. I recently bought SSX used cheap as fuck from lamestop, then I had to pay another 15 or so to get on to the online portion of the game. This is probably how MS is going to handle this all as well, I would think... if they are smart, they will make the extra charge for the online portion of the games only. I don't think this single player check in and shit is going to stick personally. Done riled up the neckbeards.

But yeah if had to pay that SSX fee, and then another XBOX liscence fee, I wouldn't be happy. They are either going to have to work with publishers to give them back some of this "used game activation fee" so that they don't include it as part of the game, or it's not going to make any sense to me. It's makes a lot more sense from a business perspective than from a consumer perspective that's for sure... but Aurik is right, they have probably some of the top analysts in the country thinking about all these things. I'm sure all this has been beat to death in hours of conferences, it's pretty naive to think otherwise imo.

Agreed. I don't think MS would be dumb enough to charge both an activation fee and an online fee. But I also didn't think they would go this route to begin with. Or do any of the other moronic things they've done already. Until release date hits it's all going to be speculation anyways unless MS decides to give full transparency. Which won't happen any time soon with how much they are reeling from all the negative PR.

Only non-EA game I can think of with a online pass would be MLB The show.

From what I have read about it, I don't think they are going retroactive and getting rid of the old online passes (or reimbursing people for them if they already bought them) but they have dumped the system for the future. Too much bad pub.
