Due to the way Microsoft has handled the Xbox One console policies, games can not be activated if you live in an unsupported region. This also appears to be true within the US where only certain states will be able to enjoy the Xbox One at launch. We spoke with a Microsoft representative about this decision.

“The states that will not be able to use the Xbox One have been determined by Microsoft to not be prime locations to launch the system; therefore, they will not be supported at launch,” said the representative, “However, all states will be able to use the Xbox One by the year 2015. This date is not final.”

We asked the representative why some states were chosen over others to which she replied, “Some factors Microsoft put into consideration included demand, the amount of complaints received from each state, internet quality, obesity rates, amount of Xbox Live users, quality of life and more. It was well thought out research and we stand by our decision to launch with only 21 states.”

“If you live in one of the states that unfortunately will not receive Xbox One support at launch, here are a few suggestions on what you can do,” said the representative, “You can relocate to a state that has Xbox One support, you can purchase an Xbox 360 which has no location restrictions, or you can wait patiently until support arrives at your state by 2015 or later.”

Actually, from a few articles I have read even if you had a reliable connection, all of the Xbones will be IP locked to region so you wouldn't/couldn't be able to even use it overseas.

Cytek responds to the QTE bashing, says it will be extremely rewarding

Crytek has issued a statement defending Ryse’s controversial quick time event based combat to Mark Serrels of Kotaku AU, who posted some none-too-flattering impressions of the title last week.

While Crytek acknowledge that “new players will be able to enjoy the game and pull off amazing-looking executions by pressing a basic combination of buttons”, the company claims “the full depth of the combat system can only be achieved by timing the execution prompts correctly”.

While the E3 demo contained eight unique kill animations, Crytek promises “around 100″ in the final product. This might be a problem for player on the “hardest difficulty mode” however, where “button prompts will not appear during execution sequences, so players will have to memorize and carefully read Marius’s body movements to determine which buttons to press and when”.

That’s a lot of QTE’s to memorise via muscular movements. Crytek assured Serrels that removing the HUD added “additional layers of skill and strategy”.

The statement said that the company was looking forward to revealing more of the “breadth and depth” of the game’s “non-punitive combat system” in the months leading up to launch in November, alongside the Xbox One.
