These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.
Haha.... I guess all their talk after E3 about "this isn't a race" and "if you don't have Internet go buy a 360" ect... Was a pile of shit and they didn't believe a word of it. How embarrassing
Still leaning towards PS4 cause PSN+ is better, some of the exclusives look more interesting and it's cheaper. But I'm not 100% decided anymore.
Nothing on removing the Kinect requirement... one step at a time I guess.
If I were Sony I'd blow a shit load of money on advertisement about X1's originally intended "features" and just confuse the general public into buying a PS4 lol.
Too bad it's still mandatory always listening kinect, 100$ more, and technically inferior to the ps4 in processing power
Next They should rename the console the "Xbox 180"
You'll be able to disable it, but the console still requires it to be plugged in at all times. So even if it is completely disabled/not in use, you can't unplug it, and if it breaks for some reason you'll need to buy a new one.
They've been taking a pretty big hit regarding privacy issues as well, I'm kind of surprised they didn't allow for it to be unplugged if it's disabled/not in use along with the rest.
Sharing with 10 friends is gone, but honestly I'm surprised that even was going to be allowed in the first place. The disc needing to be in the tray sucks since that was a pretty damn good feature, but what are you going to do I guess. Happy to see them turn around based on consumer complaints though. Drop the always on Kinect and I'll actually consider picking one up in the future.
Well this at least puts Xbox One back in as my 2nd potential console somewhere down the line, competing with the Wii U though. At this point my mind is made up for getting PS4 first.
Based on wording from Sony and MS (since they both specifically say DRM doesn't apply to disc based games), seems like games you download are going to be constrained to needing some kind of an internet connection.
Yeah I know, but when it comes to consoles I'm still an fogy and like my cases and physical items. Hell I was annoyed when some games stopped having instructions manuals, because "back in my day etc etc."
And yes, preloads should be a mandatory feature if they want to allow preorders on the console.
This is great news. With some of the features the console and with this bullshit gone, I'll eventually buy one when they drop the price.
