Especially once you find out that the whole "share 10 games with your family" thing was total fucking bullshit. Even worse when you find out that the whole "we just want give you Steam-style deals!" thing was total fucking bullshit. Ya, I dont know how people can justify Pre-ordering Consoles. I'm not pre-ordering both right away, I'm just here waiting and watching. But right now i'm leaning more to PS4 first then Xbox atm.

You know, this part could have been the truth and they had spent all that time and money building the console around it, but then after E3 they quickly realized that even with all the money they spent on the engineering of the console, they would still lose so much more if they reengineer it.
As for the dayone patch, they said they had planned that from the very beginning even when the console was DRM heavy.

I'm going to guess that Microsoft was hedging all their bets on Sony also having a similar drm policy, but Sony said fuck that and left Microsoft ou tthere to hang by itself.

Agreed. In back pedaling this hard it basically exposed all the bullshit that MS said prior to E3. Now they can try to spin it that they heard the consumers and will listen to them. Based on specs, price, and games I still think PS4 is going to outsell the Juan handily. MS may have done irreparable harm to their marketing for MS. Even with the announcement of the planned changes, their time to make that public could and should have been E3. Now you don't hit as much of the audience. MS has made a blueprint for what not to do with your new product.

From the pastebin message, about the family plan sharing:

At the present time we're no longer going forward with it, but it is not completely off the table. It is still possible to implement this with the digital downloaded versions of games, and in fact that's the plan still as far as I'm aware.

So to those people who are complaining about it going away, complain to Microsoft instead, and tell them to implement it to the digital versions of the game.
