Maybe not true as in the system needs to be connected, but that the system gives publishers the ability to do a simcity-esqe always online thing; requiring an online connection to stream data or be otherwise unplayable. I see that far more likely then a 500 dollar console that ends my game cause my wireless router needed to be reset.

That is how I think it really is going to go down. Still I hate the idea, I almost never play online anymore and mostly buy games for Single Player and RPG's mostly at that.

Just starting this off with the fact that I've never really owned a Microsoft console, mostly due to the fact that none of their exclusive games interest me. The always online thing, if it ended up being true, mostly is just one of those things that could lead to worse things in the future if the console is popular still with some form of always online.. That is really the only thing I'd be afraid of if they went that route.

I cant say either yay or nay, but what will be your response if it isnt true? I cant speak of the people there now, but when I was there they definitely did not confirm nor deny any rumors regarding anything, so be that as it may. Im just telling you from a first hand perspective,so if youre going to go that route then just call me out by name I mean I am the one dropping the "fanboy" and "Sony fag" hints, namely because lets be honest, why else are you here? lol. Not even close. Sony fag in this context is anyone that has ZERO interest in anything MS related, yet comes here simply to "Im going to laugh when it happens" type of shit. Same for 360 fags, Yankee fags, Laker fags, Cowboy fags etc. Some of these guys I have gone around with since 2006 in some cases and under different names. You can put that broad brush away, its deeper than that.

If it isn't true then ill he happy because I think it's reatrded form of DRM. I play my ps3 much much more than my 360, but I do like halo, and games that are substantially better on the 360 I get it for that over my ps3. I won't buy a 720 for its exclusives if its always online because I think it's stupid and doesn't have a place in consoles and single player games in general

Brand loyalty is just some funny muppet shit to me, so you can miss me with that noise lol M$ could be trying to generate some free PR, but they'd be allowing their competitor to get free licks in before they finally "debunk" the reports. As far as I'm concerned, their subscription service is obsolete and expecting someone to pay for basic social networking tools these days is something the Apple crowd can enjoy, I'll be happy to put the saved cash towards games. The possibility of putting a dumb handicap on a console where the primary purpose is not going to be online-based gaming would just be icing on the cake.

However, the point I made a week ago when this thread was inundated and posts and exclusive "sony fags" coming in here herping and derping and spewing the shit he said as concrete fact. Again, I have sat in on these meetings when stupid fucking conceptual ideas regarding ME, XP and MS Office were being tossed around, that never saw the light of day. I too have both consoles, I use my 360 far more than I do my PS3. I used mine purely for Bluray and for Ar Tonelico as of late, outside of that its a dust machine but I do love it in its own special way. Hell, the time I put into Last Story on my Wii was insane and you know..... its Wii.

My post even going back one week was directed solely at those individuals that have zero interest in this, but decided it would be a good idea to take a twit leak as fact and beat their dicks in a public medium, all while looking stupid. But like I said, whether or not there is validity to that post, I have no idea. I left MS 2 years ago and am back in school again getting my nerd on. But when I was there, we had a zero tolerance on denying or confirming alleged rumors and leaked info. That is personal experience talking, not something I read in USA Today. If it is true, they are fucking stupid, if not, then we move it on along. At least wait on an official word is all im saying lol. Just my experience over 11 years though, but what do I know.

Nothing wrong with some brand loyalty (I swear by Asus Laptops and their desktop mobos/GPUs), but obviously in the context of console wars, it's dumb as shit.

K, brand loyalty is definitely clouding my judgement here because the Xbox controller is a piece of crap imo compared to the the Sony design. 95% of my basis on that is the abomination that is the Xbox d-pad. I converted from a pad to stick player for most fighting games based solely on the pain I felt in my soul trying to use a 360 controller for SF4/Mahvel/etc.

But, in a helpful realm, assuming controllers will be backwards compatible (unlikely) or Madcatz updates their design when the new consoles release, there's always these fellas http://www.madcatz.com/products/mlg/. Kind of expensive but they're well built and the MLG logos come off pretty easily.
