don't have a choice, you have to connect it to the internet at setup initially to receive the first patch. most times breaking SD is fines/supply restrictions on future allocations

If you are one of the few people who still care about 3D and own a 3D television, this should interest you. Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox One will not ship with support for 3D Blu-ray playback. Sony however did confirm that PlayStation 4 will support the ability at launch.

3D Blu-ray playback ability is hardly game-related, but it’s certainly interesting considering both consoles are going for a Blu-ray future. While Microsoft has confirmed to Cnet that the ability will not be there at launch, the firm is considering adding it down the line.

PlayStation 4 will support the feature on launch after applying the 1.50 firmware update, which is available on day one, Sony has confirmed.

On the 4K front, we already know that Xbox One will support 4K output for videos and still images, PlayStation 4 however will not support 4K output at launch, though the firm is considering adding it in a later firmware update.

I want to know how loud the xbox one will run. Currently my 360 sounds like an airplane taking off while it is running. I know it is a minor complaint but damn is it annoying.

Internet Explorer for Xbox One will contain support for all modern web standards such as HTML5 and CSS3, according to a developer post from the IE team on Xbox Wire.

Xbox One users will be able to navigate the service by using voice or gesture with Kinect, the Xbox One controller, or the Xbox SmartGlass app. Those who used IE on Xbox 360 will also be able to view any pinned sites or favorites saved and pull them over onto the new console.

According to the team, it “increased support for modern web standards by over 200% from Xbox 360 to Xbox One.”

“We’ve added browser features from Windows PC: website pinning, multiple tabs, inPrivate browsing, SmartScreen, Cookie blocking, and Do Not Track, and we’ve increased integration with Xbox SmartGlass so you can use your smartphone or tablet to not only navigate Internet Explorer on Xbox One, but be able to move websites back and forth from your television to your phone or tablet.

“One of the things we’re most excited about is the ability to snap Internet Explorer to the side of your screen and pull up a walkthrough on the web while gaming, and with the massive upgrade in system performance on Xbox One, you can now multitask between Internet Explorer and other applications and games in real-time, which means you never miss a moment.”

To use voice, you just say “Xbox, Select” when Internet Explorer is running, and different voice commands will be shown. You can say “Browse to” and “Click On”

Gesture commands allow one to “reach out, and grab the page,” and then move your hand up or down to pan around the page. You can also pull the page toward you to zoom in or push it away to zoom out. Move your open hand over a link and press it to click on it: if the links are too close together, the page will automatically zoom in.

About a year ago? Was a Gold-only feature also I believe. That said, will be a nice bonus for them if it's indeed fully HTML5 compliant. Both WiiU/Vita's browsers are kind of a sorry state as far as gaming-browsers go, and I doubt PS4's is any better than what's on the Vita. I mean, they're functional, but don't count on it running/loading fast, or all sites, particularly dynamic ones, working without problems.
