Great.... I hope this doesn't happen to me(I should get the console in 3 hours). Thank God my PS4 had zero issues.

Didn't the 360 have a drive problem early on, or am I imagining that..
Posting for my brother, hoping someone has insight.
Anyone having problems installing games?
He let ryse try to install overnight, and 8 hours later it's still at 0%. Turned the console off and 2 hours later that's still sitting at 0% too
I heard Ryse can double as a coaster for your beer though...
So far Forza is the only game I see getting decent reviews, I guess waiting is a good choice for me since I don't care about cars.
Haha. I wasn't even hating on the console, just the game. Please do get back to me about what your brother thinks of Ryse when he does get to play it. His opinion will forever change my opinion of him!
Breaking parts left and right. I feel for the first adopters and what this news will do to Xbox sales in the next wave of supplies.
For having to buy two 360's I don't see myself getting an Xbox one anytime soon. Plus usual launch games suck etc.
Buddy is a GM for GameStop, 5 Xbones back with broken drives and one where the Kinect inexplicably shorted out and shit the bed. This is out of 55 units, and obviously not indicative of some sort of red ring repeat, but it's still got him pulling out his hair at this point.
edit: removed
So brother fixed his install game problem I posted about earlier.
He disconnected the x1 from the internet, and ryse installed in <5 mins. Guess having your console connected to live is holding up installs for some retarded reason.
from what I understand if it's online when you go to install it fetches big day 1 updates for the games before installing them, and if it can't reach the update servers or whatever it hangs indefinitely at 0%
Tie those nets at foxconn someone about to jump or get thrown out of the window
Some impressions after 9 hours with system and games:
-UI is a piece of shit if you don't use Kinect(have fun finding what you need without it).
-Installing games(already mentioned here).
-Kinect hardly works and I had to repeat commands from 2 to 5 times.
-Load times are awful for all the games I played (30 to 1:15) I never been annoyed from game death thanks to the loading screens.
-Ryse is most boring game I have ever played(zero challenge)
-Dead Rising 3 is a blast and if you don't mind the frame drop to 14fp(when hundred of zombies are around) and the load times.
-Killer instinct is easily best lunch title.
To sate your OCD of day one purchases. I never got day-one consoles as a kid because my folks wouldn't buy em right out of the gate. Typically got em around 7 months in. By the time I had the money to buy my own day one consoles, I had a PC, which had games that always shit on console launch titles.
I'll give Halo a pass since its always been a very, very good launch title, but I never had an interest in shooters on consoles, so broboxes were exempt. Sony has always had terrible launch titles.
I do thank you day one buyers, though. You guys are the guys who overpay to test all the broken ass day one consoles to ensure that my year one purchase is perfect, and you also give the console makers enough instant cash to justify repeating the cycle!
