The fact that you can do this with out any sort of back up or modding is beyond retarded. I mean, it's not even like it's a hard series of button presses, it's just hitting the shoulder buttons in succession @_@

There was something like this for PS3 but the sequence was longer and it was patched within the week of it being posted.

You can do things like this on a large number of consumer electronics, actually. Anything that has a built in "dev kit" mode will allow you to potentially brick your device. Most (all?) Android devices have this feature as well.

Glad I looked it up now so I know not to do it. That's the kind of sequence I would hit idly just fidgeting / some sort of warm up

Just a heads up to anyone who gets one. I got one Monday and had the disc drive issue. Sent it back today. I am busy for the next week or so, so I was too bothered by it. Free launch game for me!

Heads up for all you guys in "Tier 2" (Russia, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark) countries. My favourite online store just added this little memo (translated):

Important: According to Microsoft, the delivery date of the Xbox One to several countries (e.g. Switzerland) has been delayed for an undetermined time for adjustments to the XBL market place. Due to several conversations we expect that a delivery in this country is not going to happen any time before Easter. An even longer waiting time is not entirely unlikely.
