Microsoft Japan’s Xbox One Journey

Microsoft is giving a new meaning to Xbox Gold… by giving out an actual Xbox branded gold plate in Japan. The gold plate weighs 100 grams. Looking at gold prices, the bar has an estimated value of over $4,000.

The gold plate is the grand prize in Microsoft Japan’s Xbox One Journey promotional campaign. A Marshall Stanmore Speaker (10x), Xbox Original Blue Light Cut Glasses (30x), and Xbox One promotional goods (100x) are other prizes for the social media campaign. Participants need to be in Japan to collect any prizes.

Wow.

Definitely the best prize ever to win Worst Prize Ever category. I'd rather you give me the money now, and not have to spend my own money on securing the fucking thing until I can find a place to sell it that won't fuck me anyways.

Japanese XBone pricing, launch lineup confirmation

Xbox One has been priced in Japan, ahead of its September 4 launch. Microsoft has also unveiled the console’s launch game line-up.

It follows more than 40 developers pledging their support to Xbox One in Japan. It’s a solid list.

From September 4, Japanese gamers will be able to pick up two Xbox One bundles. The first comes with Kinect at ¥49,980 / £291 / $490, while the other comes without at ¥39,980 / £233 / $392.

The launch line-up includes the usual suspects Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome.

Square Enix has also pledged to distribute Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Thief and Call of Duty: Ghosts in Japan.

5pb. announces Chaos;Child, Mystereet F: The Detectives’ Curtain Call, & Psycho-Pass

5pb. announced three new Xbox One adventure games during a Niconico presentation this morning.

First, the developer’s previously announced Chaos;Child, whose platform was yet to be announced, will launch for Xbox One sometime in 2014.

Next up is Mystereet F: The Detectives’ Curtain Call, which includes Abel Software’s original Mystereet and a completely new version of the still incomplete Mystereet 2 re-developed for Xbox One.

And finally, 5pb. are also developing an Xbox One game based on the Psycho-Pass anime. It will have an original story drawn up by Nitroplus, and it will support both Kinect and Smartglass interaction.

http://gearnuke.com/xbox-one-externa...0-improvement/

Xbox One’s latest firmware update allows us to use an external storage device with the console and its storage needs. This opens potential for higher speed drives and the improvements that they can bring to the table. So what happens if we use a higher speed external drive for our gaming needs instead of the internal one?

Thanks to reddit user brain_chaos, we have a much better idea of what to expect from the move to a better speed external drive. Check out the comparison between new and old load times below.
Game Internal HDD External HDD
Watch Dogs 84 secs 63 secs
Ryse 47 secs 24 secs
Forza 5 51 secs 22 secs

The above table shows noticeable improvement in load times. In case you are curious on what hard disk was used for this speed test, it was Touro Mobile Pro 1TB 7,200 RPM SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive, which is obviously faster than the internal hard disk.

External Hard Disk load times were already proven to be better but with this new comparison, the difference can be clearly noticed, and in more games as well. If you are still on the fence, this new comparison might make you take the plunge.

[Waraji]

I'm not familiar with the entirety of XJuan specs., but if this 7200 RPM USB 3.0 drive is Faster than the internal drive, that could only mean A) 5400 RPM hard drive, B) SATA II @ 3.0/GBs (being generous it just could be SATA I @ 1.5/GBs, or C) All of the above.

[Salodin]

I can't believe a 7200rpm drive alone gives that dramatic of a performance increase. Fucking A lol.

Inside our Xbox One, we find a Samsung Spinpoint M8 ST500LM012 500 GB 5400 RPM with 8MB Cache SATA II 3.0Gb/s hard drive.

lol

[Waraji]

Alas it's C) All of the above.

5400 RPM hasn't been a category for Hard Drives on newegg for like 2 years now.

on a related note, any suggestions on a usb 3.0 external to pick up for it? want to get something pretty big, but at a reasonable price and haven't shopped around for one in ages

Fantasia: Music Evolved coming October 21st
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/...rhood-logo.jpg

Disney Interactive and Harmonix today announce the official release date for the award-winning music and motion video game, "Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved," along with new content to be revealed at this year's E3. The breakthrough musical motion video game inspired by Disney's classic animated film "Fantasia," will be available worldwide for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Kinect for Xbox 360 on October 21, 2014.

At E3, the team will follow last year's standout performance where it received awards from Game Critics for 'Best Social/Casual Game,' GameSpot for 'Best of E3,' Polygon for 'Editor's Choice,' and Game Informer for 'Best Music/Rhythm Game.' This year's show will set the stage for new multiplayer gameplay and reveal the latest musical additions, along with a vibrant city realm, "The Neighborhood."

In "The Neighborhood," players will work their way through a restrained 2D urban cityscape, using music and magic to unleash a vibrant and magical 3D environment by interacting with billboards, rooftops, trains and other surprises hidden within the city landscape. Through this mind-bending experience, players will watch and listen as their movements create bold colors and whimsical music that make "The Neighborhood" a fantastical adventure.

Additionally, players will be introduced to Yen Sid's previous apprentice, Scout, via the game's narrative, who will guide the player as they perform, transform and create music to restore order to the world.

Featuring over 30 tracks - including contemporary hits, classic rock, classical music, and more - "Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved" transports players to a breathtaking world where music and magic combine to transform extraordinary interactive landscapes in entirely new and creative ways.
