"Does this always need to be connected?"
"No, not always."
"Does this always need to be connected?"
"No, not always."
So no mention of a hard drive or if its going to be always on?
I really hope their E3 conf will be just about games.

The next Xbox won't require an Internet connection to function, but could very well block used games, unless you feel like paying Microsoft some extra cash.
Wired got a look at Xbox One before today's big reveal, and they say that games will require installation to use. “On the new Xbox, all game discs are installed to the HDD to play,” Microsoft told them.
But games will be tied to an Xbox Live account, Wired reveals—or else you'd just be able to pass games around to everyone you know. And if you want to link a game to a second account, you'll have to pay a feeAnd what of the persistent rumors that Xbox One games will be “always online” – that is, that single-player games would require a constant online connection to function? As it turns out, those rumors were not unfounded, but the reality is not so draconian. Xbox One will give game developers the ability to create games that use Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing service, which means that they might be able to offload certain computing tasks to the cloud rather than process them on the Xbox One hardware itself. This would necessitate the game requiring a connection.
Somebody post pics, missed stream, etc.
I totally missed this. Anyone have a link for a live stream that can be rewound and re-watched?
Wanted to thank ringthree for the many lolz
Watched the stream, staying for the gifs

any mention on if you have to use the kinect to use the system?
Games need to be installed and it only has a 500GB HDD. These are HD games right?
I guess its because there are only 2-3 games a year that are worth buying for Xbox.
Not interested. All games requiring a online pass through xbox live is a pretty big turn off... especially since you have to pay for live to play them anyway. Actually this is WORSE than an online pass. You have to PAY THEM to install the game. The always online is partially true. Most devs are not going to turn down 300,000 servers processing power.... so yeah. Also, Kinect required to function..... 1080p of you naked since the console is "always on"
Did this actually make anyone who was undecided on their next console, or didn't think they wanted the next xbox actually WANT to buy it? Isn't that the point of a reveal, to make more people interested? It seems it only catered to the people who were already going to buy the next xbox regardless, and didn't try to branch out to people who had no interest in it..
