Not interested. All games requiring a online pass through xbox live is a pretty big turn off... especially since you have to pay for live to play them anyway. Actually this is WORSE than an online pass. You have to PAY THEM to install the game. The always online is partially true. Most devs are not going to turn down 300,000 servers processing power.... so yeah. Also, Kinect required to function..... 1080p of you naked since the console is "always on"

Isn't that the point of a reveal, to make more people interested? It seems it only catered to the people who were already going to buy the next xbox regardless, and didn't try to branch out to people who had no interest in it..

I am now leaning heavily towards PS4. This did nothing but turn me off towards Xbox.

IF I get a next-gen console, it'll be a PS4. Not really feeling either at the moment, but the event took any interest I had in the new Xbox and curbstomped it.

I'm not anti-xbox, I owned the original xbox but I skipped out on 360 last gen in favor of the PS3. I was younger and didn't have the money to afford both. Now I can afford to get both consoles but this didn't do anything to make me want to hop back in to get the Xbox.

Pretty crazy... throw in R&D and they probably have near a billion dollars on the line. No wonder they are not subsidizing the console.

Yeah I own a 360, I don't own a PS3, I played only 1 game on my Wii and did the majority(99.99%) of my console gaming on 360 this gen and I have zero interest in the next xbox, this conference also made me have even less interest. The 360 released with a bunch of good/decent exclusive JRPG's and had much better versions of multi-system games like bayonetta so it was a no brainer. Have never owned a sports, racing(except mario/diddy kong), and never owned a popular multiplayer FPS on a console besides perfect dark and goldeneye.

You're basing your response on that I'm apparently pro-Sony. I never said that Sony has a leg up or that MS was failing in comparison to Sony. People expected to see big ticket items(at least I did.) Instead they were treated to clips of yearly cookie cutter sports titles. What exactly did Microsoft show you today that you feel is exceeding or even meeting expectations?

Both systems are running about neck and neck right now to me. But the looming specter of always online for Xbox is something a lot of people will not be up for. The commentary deliberately skirted the issue which will play on the stupidity of the consumer. Your first reveal(again in my opinion) needs to be something that excites the consumer. All I saw was MS pandering to the Madden/CoD demographic. Nothing new or amazing there. Sure we got to see the system but let's be honest, who the fuck cares. It's a shell covering components. Unless if you're tossing out controllers like the Dreamcast or original Xbox did nobody should let the physical appearance of the system impact whether or not they buy it.

After watching this I am neither excited about the system or interested in spending my money on it. As a consumer that was up in the air Microsoft blew it. Only get one chance to make a first impression and all that.

Sorry, I obviously wasn't talking in response to you specifically, but I keep reading silly shit like this (and not just from BG):

PS4 and steambox is all I care about anymore. I'm sure the majority of real actual gamers are watching this and just going "what.......?" the entire time, or going "lol can't wait for ps4".

Now that the conference is over (though Twitch still announcing something in 45 mins apparently) I'll definitely agree Sony had a stronger showing, but they only showed a handful of games too, and that shit is nothing more than personal preference. Forza and Quantum Break were far more interesting to me than Killzone and that other platformer thing I can't even remember the name of. Sony wins for me only on the fact they revealed dat stream tech, if they hadn't done that it would have been just as poor a showing as MS. I guess the point I'm trying to make is fuck fanboys. As always which I purchase first will come down to pricing and exclusives, neither of which we have any concrete info about.
