Sounds more or less like Microsoft failing to educate their staff. I have no doubt Wired got that answer when they asked. I also have no doubt that Microsoft should know better.... than to have all these rumors before a conference and still not answer any of them during or after the conference.

lulz.
Gamestop shitting itself right now.
It'll probably be very similar to what is in place on the 360, which i guess not many people know about. When you make a purchase on LIVE, the content is registered to the console AND the account that bought it. So, all accounts/users can play a game purchased on a console, and the account which bought it can play on ANY console.
Also, I'm guessing if your console needs to be replaced, you will have to do what you currently have to do if your 360 gets replaced. Go account options and just transfer all licenses to a new xbox, but you can only do this twice a year.
That already happened with a League of Legends streamer. Poor bastard, lol.

15 exclusives will likely include kinect shovelware.
Note they also played with the word 'exclusive' during the CoD: Ghosts presentation by calling it 'exclusive...first on Xbox One.'
So all told it will probably be less than five exclusives anybody gives a shit that actually stay exclusive to the XBox Juan.
Honestly I don't know why I didn't consider the fact that some of those exclusives would be Kinect shovelware. ~_~
Being forced into owning a Kinect wouldnt make me happy. I buy consoles for games, so I'll get the one that has the games I want. Microsoft, more gears and halo wont sell me your console. Hopefully in 19 days I can see more games and come to a conclusion as to which console would fit me best. What friends are buying will probably sway my decision as well.
Wow....

WELL THAT ANSWERS THAT. NO THANKS MICROSOFT.
Oh god, here we go with the console wars discussions again...
Also, this trading games thing is complete BS and basically screws gamestop up the asshole (which I have no problem with because they deserve it)... but it also screws all of us who want to get some used games and not buy every single title we're interested in as all new @ $60.
Um lol... so if you want to play a game at a friend's house, you'll basically have to pay a "fee", that fee being the ACTUAL COST OF THE GAME, to play your own disc, which you had already paid for, on a friend's console. What can I say, GENIUS."But what if you want to bring a game disc to a friend's house and play there? You'll have to pay a fee—and not just some sort of activation fee, but the actual price of that game—in order to use a game's code on a friend's account. Think of it like a new game, Harrison says."
Stupid decision...but anything to resist piracy I guess. The 360 was practically a whorehouse of exploits.
Kudos to Sony for winning the war before it even started.
IDK how much of a War it'll be when one of the members is essentially already a floating corpse :D
I dub thee....... Xone
How kind of Microsoft. Here's how the system works: when you buy an Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game. You'll have to connect to the Internet in order to authorize that code, and the code can only be used once. Once you use it, that game will then be linked to your Xbox Live account. "It sits on your harddrive and you have permission to play that game as long as you’d like," Harrison said.

No used games, you want to lend/borrow a game? they/you'll have to pay a fee (a fee as in the game's full price).
Using Kotaku as a credible news source is lolworthy but based on everything else it wouldn't surprise me if it were true.
Between Steam and Gamefly, combined with the enormous backlog of games I have to play from this generation and previous generations, I think I'm going to skip this next generation completely.
So basically if we purchase a game, then we get to KEEP IT AS WELL???

He forgot to add the part about how you can play it until they turn the xbox one servers off and then you're fucked. Here's how the system works: when you buy an Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game.
