On another note, what's this point about "Xbox live communicates across both platforms"? Unless I'm interpreting that comment wrong (entirely possible), cross play has already been debunked. The accounts carry over, but the two consoles can't communicate or do multiplayer with each other.

Don't expect any cross-platform play between Xbox 360 and Xbox One. That's what Microsoft Xbox UK marketing manager Harvey Eagle confirmed to Videogamer.

"Because of the different architecture of the systems it's not possible. Your Xbox Live account on 360 will carry over to Xbox One. That same account will work on both platforms. The multiplayer won't," Eagle told Videogamer. The Xbox 360 is built on PowerPC architecture, while the Xbox One utilizes an x86 chipset – so no purchased games will transfer to the new system.

Nothing prevents you from selling your copy of Windows. Heck, you inherently do so if you've ever sold someone an old computer. But ignoring selling an entire PC, you can always uninstall Windows and sell it separately if you so desire.

Not sure if it had been 100% confirmed prior, but Joystiq just posted an article confirming that the Kinect does have to be connected and powered for the system to function.

Owners of the original Kinect on Xbox 360 had the ability to unplug the device, but that won't be the case with the ever-vigilant and always-listening Xbox One version, Corporate VP of Microsoft Studios Phil Spencer told Joystiq.

all i'm picking up in this thread is a bunch of "hardcore gamers" that have no use for TV, sports, movies, streaming or any other alternate forms of entertainment and that none of you were going to buy the thing anyway.

i'm satisfied with what i saw in the 1 hour period and will wait for more at E3. I'm guessing most of you were on the PS side of the 360 vs PS3 console wars and are still salty with how much your console got shit on in the last 30 months.

I was previously an Xbox 360 owner until I switched to the Master race. I was pretty much anti PS3. I hated the controller. I still think the ergonomic design of the xbox 360 controller is the best. That said, the Xone is a huge let down. Too many money grubbing tactics, but what pushed me over the edge was the kinect always on thing. I bought all my xboxes for halo. I will not be purchasing this PoS. The playstation has brought way too many nice features in with the ps4 compared to xone's craptastic restrictions and xbox live fees. I am waiting on Super Smash bros for Wii U. I am now a sony man.

I am 100% sure that M$ will change a lot of the restrictions on the Xone that have been declared.

BTW, XJuan makes me think of this guy every time I hear it.

I'm disappointed in the specs, but really don't care about the other issues. I don't buy used games and the last time I brought a game to a friend's house was about 15 years ago while I was in college.

I typically end up with each system; at this point ill probably get a wii-u for the kids first, then see how the rest shakes out over the holidays. PS4 will probably be second though, as my 4 year old currently plays PS3 more than me. My days of Halo marathons are over, so there will need to be some other exclusives to make me get One.
