The whole game rental/gamefly thing repercussions thing kind of irks me, now that I'm thinking about it. I mean, it was nice to be able to rent something and see if you actually liked it before committing the 60 bucks to a new release. I haven't done that in years, but I'm sure there's plenty of people who currently do (And I probably should, can't count how many titles I've bought and played for a week then didn't touch again for literally years when I coulda gotten them for bargain price). Point is, looking at it from that perspective, its really can come down to a dirty trick to part you from your money for either a bad title, or a title you just don't enjoy.

Not like you can just return it if you buy it at Gamestop, lol. I mean, bad games still come out, and they still get a 60 dollar price tag.

I used to enjoy doing what I called the "Gamestop rental". Gamestop's policy on pre-owned games was that they could be returned for a full refund within seven days for ANY reason, so I would buy the game, play the hell out of it for a few days, and if I really liked it I would keep it, if not, or if I finished it and never saw any replay value, would return it. I mostly ended up keeping the huge sandbox games like Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption, and sports titles, but for games with a short single player campaign and not much else like Bioshock or The Force Unleashed, it was perfect.

Guess I won't be doing that anymore.

Conference was good from a games perspective. And while I didn't expect them to address any of the issues that the system has, that doesn't say anything good about it. There was nothing there that would make me want to drop $500 for a system with all those restrictions. So definitely not getting this at release.

Update: Despite Spencer's assertion that Titanfall is "exclusive," a new post on Xbox Wire shows the game is also coming to Xbox 360 and PC in addition to Xbox One.
