The President should have lot both of those two die, doesn't matter if he's willing to sacrifice himself or not. Every one of those three codes should have been protected with their lives, and him flinching at threats to their lives and telling them to talk was pathetic.
It's national security, it's not like they're just protecting bank vault codes or something. He should have watched them die, and if they broke first, then deride them for it. Shit, I was half expecting the President to join the bad guys in some strange twist after they got the other two codes.
And Morgan Freeman, as the Acting President, was basically just like "Yo, hey, every other terrorist in the world, you know that policy we have of not negotiating with terrorists? We were just kidding lol." I would have expected him to do his best to recover/save the President if possible, of course, but let him die if necessary before such a massive and public capitulation to terrorist demands.
I realize it's an action movie and lol @ it's plot and all, but ffs. Those things just kinda kill it for me, idk.
