Oh ok, my bad.
What I hate was that the first's one's formula was perfect. Then Ubisoft decided they wanted to be Activision when they already had something that was fine the way it was. Then AC3 was them improving the half-assed gameplay mechanics that they fucked up in AC Revelations but then having the game suffer from 1 or two game breaking glitches because they didn't bother to polish their oh-so-wonderful graphics engine (which to be fair, is actually beautiful in certain areas).
I'm sure AC4 will be an improvement over AC3 but they have a poor track record of listening to the players that are putting in the most time in their MP so eventually, there'll be something else to bitch at when the time comes. Unfortunately, my dumbass will probably day 1 this game because I love the MP.
You play as an Abstergo researcherhttp://www.vg247.com/2013/06/12/assa...go-researcher/Ubisoft has confirmed that an Abstergo employee is the meta-star of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
Speaking to VG247 at E3 2013, game director Ashraf Ismael said former Assassin’s Creed meta-protagonist Desmond Miles has been replaced by an Abstergo researcher.
Unlike Desmond’s gameplay sequences in past games, Black Flag will be played from first-person during the present day sections.
It’s not clear whether these sections will be purely story focused or, like Assassin’s Creed: Revelations first-person sequences, contain puzzle platforming.
Assassin’s Creed 3 ended the story of Desmond Miles which drove the series to that point.
I figured that was their direction, especially after AC3:Liberation.
I'm getting less and less excited about this game by the second. It's amazing how they managed to drive the series to the ground so quickly.
The Italian Renaissance was the peak of this series and they should have ended it there. Anything past Brotherhood was simply a big failure and didn't live up to the hype that was expected of it... and the present day story had such potential, only to go out with a whimper? And now they're replacing it with a generic Abstergo employee. Great stuff Ubi.
Honestly, they should just cut out the present day storyline completely and just deliver games from the past and that's that.
Aveline is also playable
Spoiler: showhttp://kotaku.com/assassin-s-creed-s...ssin-512971227Ubisoft has confirmed reports that Aveline — the bi-racial heroine from Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation — will be jumping from the PlayStation Vita to the PS3 and PS4.
The series’ lone female protagonist will be the focus of three missions that will be exclusive to PlayStation platforms. While the news isn’t as exciting as a full-fledged sequel to Liberation, it’s nice to see that Ubisoft hasn’t totally forgotten about Aveline.

http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/12/as...ntinues-aveli/We cornered Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag single-player game director Ashraf Ismail and asked him to detail the special Aveline content coming to PS3 and PS4 consoles. Ismail says the bonus PlayStation content will resume Aveline's story at the end of Assassin's Creed III: Liberation and explains how Animus upgrades make it all possible.
But this game takes place before Aveline's time....
Confusion confusion.
Regardless, hard to complain about this. Her story in AC3L was actually pretty good.
I've been a really big fan of the entire series up until III, which I thought was good, but not as good as I had hoped it'd be. I really thought I may have been done with jumping on these games at launch... after these clips I take that all back, I'll probably have it for PS4's launch (played the first 5 on X360)... 2013 is really kicking ass for gaming
That ship combat looks like so much fun, this game is looking better and better.
also reminder that Ass Creed 2 should be free on Xbox Gold
>Edward is one of the most unique characters we've created
>blonde white dude
Still, looks pretty great.
Looks WAY more interesting that AC3
I absolutely hated AC3. I couldnt stand that game, and the boat gameplay they showed in that video makes me think I may pick it up. Mind you it will still be when it gets discounted down to 20-30$ but they got me (sorta) to consider buying a game that before that I would have written off as total crap.
Yeah I made the mistake of picking up AC3 at full price. This looks far better but I'll probably wait a bit for the price to drop unless my backlog magically disappears by then.
The fuck are you people going on about? It looks like AC3 with some new gameplay features added in. They took a good game and improved upon it. Where is this perception of "vastly different" coming from?
If you liked the gameplay you just watched, you liked AC3 lol.
I imagine parts of it are going to make me nostalgic for Wind Waker. I like that there are dynamic ship battles that you can engage, or not engage, in. I just hope the area is significant in size.
I guess we like it because the only thing that was good on AC3 were the naval battles and so far they just showed that. I'm also considereing this one but meh i don't really want to.. AC3 was so horrible i can't justify to buy this one at full price.
