No credit to bad credit?

Meh from my previous jobs and how much I got paid vs what I actually had to do, this is by far the most responsibility I've had and hardest work I've had to do for it.

It's not awesome, I agree. I worked in a similar job in the past, and at a Japanese restaurant. You just aren't being fucked as hard as you would be if you were an undocumented immigrant, for what comfort that's worth.

You could determine whether working at a place like McDonald's would be a step up or not. If so, you could apply to various fast food places and attempt to go legit. If not, try to find whatever advantages there may be to working where you are (if there are any).

only advantage I can think of is I can eat for free and get free boba, but everything there exceeds the boundaries of my current diet, so I don't actually get to utilize it.

You may be better off. I can tell you from experience, as I went to that under-the-table Japanese place from a legal fast food joint. What kind of shit do you have to do?

Still have all the responsibilities of the front I was trained in (even though they didn't keep me up front) when I have downtime in the back. In the back I'm basically kitchen bitch + all heavy lifting/meat cutting. Basically I don't get downtime, since I was trained in both the front and back; they just swap me back and forth, and everyone else is just one or the other and can sit around for a few mins during downtime

The main benefit you would get from fast food, then, would be your legally mandated break periods, assuming that you're working full time hours. If you had a shady boss, you would not get those in a legal position either, but ideally, that wouldn't be the case.

Do you have to clean a shitter? This is a big thing, by the way. I would rather deal with blood and guts in a kitchen than clean a shitter for minimum wage, having done both.

I guess that means they've never assigned you to cleaning the shitter, so that's good. It's a pretty big plus, honestly. Restaurant shitters are among the worst. Only publicly accessible gas station and park bathrooms tend to be nastier. People are nasty motherfuckers.

I would never say that your situation is awesome, but it's better than nothing, as you know. Of course, I hope you get something better sooner than later.

Not the worst thing in the world but i definitely preferred being up front. Actually liked it up there; and would be making more (via tips) if I were up there. So being up there long enough to get trained then getting put in the back the first day I would have been receiving tips is a big kick in the dick

Ah, so you are cleaning the public bathroom? Well then, that "bonus" isn't a bonus at all.

Working at a place like McDonald's, Burger King, etc., would yield you breaks and protection against any harm that should come to you on the job—or it should, at least. People in legal places of business love to do illegal things just as much.

What you can do in the future is use your experience at the current place on a resume. They may not even call the reference. In fact, some application forms let you specifically check off whether the reference is contactable or not. Of course, should they contact them and frustrate your boss, you may be out of a job. Whether you want to take that gamble or not will ultimately be up to you.

If you ever get tired of working there, though, I suggest not burning any bridges, and keeping record of the best English speaker's name and the place's phone number so you may use it as a reference in the future. If someone else contacts them and they're not dicks, whether they were operating legally or not will be of no concern—you'll just want as good of a reference as you can get out of them.

Maybe a dumb question, if i ask my CC to lower my credit does it affect my credit score? For Ex. I have a 1K max credit and ask to lower it to 500

By my understanding, the amount of credit available to you does help to boost your score. It shows more responsibility and self control when you can maintain good credit habits with $5,000 in available credit vs $500.

At the very least, having a smaller amount of credit will make it more difficult for you to ensure that your balance never exceeds 30% of your total available credit (which definitely does hurt your score).

The more credit you have generally better. Tho ironically you might have a hard time getting a new credit line, as most creditors try to max out as much credit they can give you. The only time it ever becomes a real negative is when you aim for a house.

Because they look to your income and credit lines. If I was to apply for a home I very well might be forced to close a card. One that I am joint on has a 100k limit. mortgage sellers can be scared of something like that.

If you are going into the branch anytime before the due date. If it's an electric check out e-payment give it about 5 days before the due date at least.

I'd say no because the bill isn't any sort of debt that would be getting reported to the 3 bureaus(secured/unsecured debt/loan such as credit card, car loan, mortgage, etc). The only way I could see it building credit is if the company reports their customers to the 3 bureaus. I've had at&t, comcast, and verizon internet and none of them has ever shown on my credit report.

Most of those bill companies like your internet, phone bill, electric bill, etc., only report if you go into default. So if you pay on time they do nothing, if you fuck up and go more than 3 months behind they will report you. At least that's what I've heard.

It's no way to live, but if you're living paycheck to paycheck and you have to let some bills get behind from time to time, it won't really affect your credit. Certain things like student loans, auto loans, credit cards (even from department stores), and mortgages of course report so you want to pay them on time every time.
