If you have pre-ordered Arma 3 then you already have access to the alpha version of this hard-core military simulation. If you haven't already purchased your copy, you now have a shot to check out Arma 3. A free lite version of the alpha is out on Steam that doesn't include mod support or multiplayer.

This free alpha is invite-only, and people who have pre-ordered are getting keys as gift items in their Steam inventory to give out as they see fit. Bohemia Interactive will also be giving out keys on Arma 3's Facebook and Twitter.

Just a quick note, if you've played 1000 hours of Arma 3 you'll get access to the Tanoa map ahead of time. It's being shared with the Sa-Matra guys so KoTH will be ready to test/play on in that beta access period (though I'd prefer A3 Wasteland). This map looks amazing so I can easily see myself dumping countless more hours into Arma 3.

Anyone have any experience with arma 3 mods? was curious if there are stable lag free servers out there? I played a good deal of A2 so i can understand bugs and what not, modded my own epoch server, and a few custom missions.

I just want to know if eventually i'll be able to either find a stable server thats relatively lag free, or build my own, assuming i can build one with enough juice to handle it properly.

Or is that just the experience you'll have with arma 3 no matter what server/mod/specs, buggy rubberbanding vehicles?

There's a lot of changes you need to make server side to get a non-laggy server, that plus some really expensive hardware and connection costs.

My personal favorite is A3 Wasteland by AgentRev, and within that realm my favorite servers are the TOP Arma servers.

Also, exile mod is basically epoch mod from arma 2 if anyones looking to get back into the game.

Avoid epoch mod for a3 at all costs that shit is garbo
