Why is spellcast automatically swapping me back to idle gear whenever I switch gear manually. I hit /sc set 'melee' and it swaps to TP gear, then switches to idle gear 2sec later as if I;m aftercasting. I didnt touch my xml at all in weeks.

Something changed in SpellCast with AutoSets I am assuming, it is causing the "CombatMode" trigger to fire very fast.
Without the /ra(what i tested on) from actually firing.
Here is the RNG XML not the most well written but got the job done til today.
Also not sure what might have changed but either login events or jobevents or all events? are not working for me.
Sorry to be a pain but figured you would want to know.
The auto-set thing is a nuisance, makes the game unplayable with SC as it switches to auto-set idle gear before a spell finishes or before my WS even goes off ._.

I just installed FFXI on my new laptop. I downloaded windower, then copied my existing windower folder from my pc and put it on my laptop. Everything seems to work fine except i can't get my laptop to recognize spellcast. I don't swap gear when i do an action nor does it switch profiles when i change jobs. Any thoughts why this is happening? It works fine on my pc.

Is the windower folder you copied windower4? or the previous version?
I have a version of spell cast that was last mod'd on Dec. 10th, which should predate any issues that have been happening up until this point, if the issue is still going on I can upload it to my dropbox and put up the url. I suggest anyone who is working on plugins keep a back up of whatever 'latest' version was released live before publishing a new version of it to prevent anything like this happening again.
I've been backing up my plugins now for a little over 4 months ever since an issue with one of them being 'fixed' in an update, which really didn't see a true fix until about a week after for the issue I was experiencing, and luckily an older version it happened to run just fine.
In this particular instance with spellcast, the large amount of changes that needed to be made to ensure that it could actually be updated ever again were live on the -dev version (available for public use for testing, normally just as stable as the live version!) for about a week. This is the usual process, hotfixes and minor fixes are the only things to go to live immediately. But nobody reported any issues. Because nobody reported issues, it was pushed to live.
Re-uploading a lower version to the server is a bad idea for many reasons, and attempting to roll back code to the previous usable state is not always possible when large amounts of changes have been done (I was trying this to figure out when the error started, it was mostly unsuccessful in terms of building).
Your options are: continue to backup plugins, or become at least partially involved in the testing process so this doesn't happen again.

I'm not entirely sure this is a windower issue or bad install, but has anyone had an issue with cutscenes not playing after beating a mission battlefield? I noticed it first with the final bastok mission, and again with CoP when I noticed there was a lot of cutscenes missing that I remembered from my first time around. It just happened again with shield of diplomacy. I get cutscenes fine elsewhere, before a battlefield as well, but it seems like any battlefield mission where a cutscene plays in the same area after exiting the battlefield... nothing. I did notice a couple cutscenes play if it warps you to another area after exiting the battlefield though, such as tenzen's fight exiting you to al'taeiu.
That happened to my PS2 on the last Windurst mission.
