How do the commands for Timers work? To test things out, I tried casting stoneskin on myself, which displayed as Stoneskin[Self]. I then tried timers delete Stoneskin[Self], Stoneskin, stoneskin, 37, etc. but nothing worked.
Is there something I need to do to make ffxidb recognize Kamihr and Ra'Kaznar?
No, FFXIDB just doesn't work on some zones, it's not just Kamir and Ra'kaznar.
That wasn't the main purpose of FFXIDB when it was released anyway.
Think someone (arcon?) was developing a new addon with similar effect (maps online)
The FFXI mapping community is not much helpI'll try if I can adjust the latest source I have available to our format later.
And I'm not developing a new addon, but rewriting FFXIDB in a way that it doesn't rely on external data sources but instead uses internal mapping functions. We have those available already (can access them through Lua with windower.ffxi.get_position and windower.ffxi.get_map_data). The obvious advantage is that we wouldn't need to manually gather map data anymore, it would be perfectly accurate and it would immediately work in zones that are newly released. However, due to time constraints I didn't get much done yet in that respect.
I would appreciate it if someone could test this: https://googledrive.com/host/0B1-GYv...cTA/FFXIDB.dll
It should work on all new zones with the internal mapping functions, so it should be perfectly accurate without relying on any user-derived data (except for a map > DAT mapping we still use, but we're trying to get rid of that as well).
Has the cause of the "mobs disappearing/blinking" been found btw?
@Arcon
Will test that Arcon, thanks!
Edit:
nvm it's cupper. If you activate ja0wait it fucks it up somehow, even when you close it game remains fucked up.
Strange thing is that it doesn't seem to happen 100% of the times...
That sounds like the vector mapping Mappy did, using XYZ coordinates. I was trying to map out some of the zones with horrible in-game maps, like Yhoator and Yuhtunga (Yorcia also comes to mind) a while ago, but I haven't made much progress lately, partly from having had that forced 14 month break. Increased movement speed, and me finally getting some speed+ gear has given me incentive again, but I'm down to 4-6 hours a week (all on Saturday) to play.
I'll share any map files I make, probably as a BT Sync share so they keep updating.
Like I said, I just manage to integrate the game's own internal functions into the plugin, so we don't need map data anymore. It doesn't need any user-derived data at this point and runs fully on game-native code, meaning we'll never have to farm map data again (unless you want it for mappy or some such, but not for FFXIDB anyway).
Ok so i loaded your new ffxidb file there. The map pops up occasionally in Outer Ra'Kaznar. if you go to the roots at K-10 and jsut walk around the room the map pops in disappears then looks like it is zoomed really far out with a small square map with a npc in the lower right corner (the geomantic fumes) I actually didnt load the file til i got into that room though. but seems its a step in the right direction. Will report more when i head to the silver plate thingie if anythign different other than the switching between the different maps i described.
I see, thanks for the info. I'll fix the zoom thing shortly, and I'll examine the new zones a bit more.
Should FFXIDB work in skirmish areas normally? It just doesn't show on screen at all in the new skirmish zone.
Outer Ra'Kaznar only, or other skirmish areas as well?
Just a bit more experience with the FFXIDB you posted for testing.
So last night i noticed the version of FFXIDB you posted here was zoomed in really close and wouldnt respond to commands to change zooms (if not in all zones, alot of them). I was harvesting Akaso in Yorcia last night, the map was zoomed in alot and a bit off in alignment and would seemingly flicker between different maps or places on the map here and there. i Ran all over the map lookin for Harvest points. I cant remember if ffxidb map didnt work in yorcia before or not tho.
Is anything going to happen to Autocontrol? It still needs fixing.
(unless it has been fixed already and it doesn't work for me because of local issues)
Trumpy: Yeah, the version is unstable in a few regards, but I'm working on that now.
Sechs: What's broken?
I don't play much, if at all anymore. Thus if something is wrong with one of my addons (autocontrol, ohshi, stna, azuresets) you're going to have to let me know. And you're going to have to be a hell of a lot more specific than "it doesn't work" or "it's broken." Also, the quickest way to let me know that something is broken is on the issue tracker because it emails me. Posting in this thread is hit or miss because i only skim it at best.
Tried it 1 or 2 days ago I think. The burden window was working fine and so were the custom timers, but the equip thing was giving a lua error and didn't swap automatons at all.
Dunno if it has been fixed already, maybe it was a luacore issue and not an addone one.
I'll try again tomorrow.
@Nitrous
Was just wondering if it has been already discussed, if it was known etc. I didn't want to make my previous post count the same as an official report.
I'll make one if I see it's still not working when I try it tomorow![]()
What was the plugin where you saw your curExp/MaxExp along with your exp per hour, merits, etc at the bottom of the UI?
I kind of liked having it down there back when I played extensively in 2010.
Edit: The plugin I'm thinking of was ExpWatch, but it's not listed for this version of windower.
It was replaced by attainment.
