fun... magically after the windower update... it freeze @ Downloading data....

is the problem... a "fresh" install did work w/o problem... as soon I did copy settings/addon/plugins back to the same..

Same problem happening to me and a friend. Just tried logging in with no plugins and it happened. Gonna try with no add-ons now.

Since clearly things aren't being tested, can someone post how to opt out of auto-updating windower addons/luacore?

unload all addons... so looks like luacore is the problem since w/o it addons dont work

Well, unloaded all addons, was able to log in, tried loading shortcuts while in game and nothing happened, tried loading gearswap and the window froze.

Edit: By nothing happen i mean, it wouldn't load or acknowledge the command at all.

hmmm and did freeze with battlemod, then unloaded it and tried again and froze (after that did assume all addons had problems)

well luacore was just updated... lets see

Is this working for anyone else or is it just me it not working for? Curious because I would like to start on some more luas for other jobs today, and if this will significantly ease that process I would like to use it.
For me after clicking select file and pickin say my thf xml, thf.xml shows up under select file and then i hit convert and it changes to a blank page with the green windower header. I assume some lua code is sposed to pop up some where? Maybe I am just doin it wrong and someone can let me know?

EDIT: Did a search in thread for "sc2lua" to find more info maybe and came up with only Sechs and My posts in the last few days, where was it previously mentioned?

I don't know what's going on. I'm still having the same crashing problem from a few weeks ago. I stopped and focused on finals but want to get back into it, but it's still crashing for no reason I can figure out.

I have:

1) Done a complete file check and replaced all my dats (ugh)
2) Force updated windower and all plugins
3) Unloaded ~90% of the plugins/addons

I get in the game, 10-15 seconds later it just goes "Nope" and hard crashes.
Starting feel this is a sign to just put my staff up permanently but I don't personally feel done with XI.

I'd start to think hardware. Check temps, reseat RAM.

I can run TERA, Civ 5, Sins of a Solar Empire, etc all fine. It's just XI and its only after im in for a few seconds. If I were to guess, its after it thinks/loads inventory.

Does it work without any plugins/addons loaded? If so, try to narrow it down to a particular plugin/addon, then we can help. If not, I'll provide you with a different version of Hook and I'd ask you to make a crash dump with that Hook version, it should give us a bit more detailed debug information.

Does it crash if you're not using windower at all? If not, try completely reinstalling Windower 4. I had an extremely similar crashing problem caused by Windower, and reinstalling it fixed it.

Very possible and not too hard either. With a little experimentation (and some Lua experience, possibly from editing GS files) someone should be able to hack something together in a day or so.

This is untested, but it should be something like this. This also assumes you arent doing something / have a copy.

What I would do is loop all the time instead of relying on the buff dropping.

Its Windower itself.

File check > all dats replaced.
Loaded game in vanilla (ewwwwww) worked fine.
Loaded Windower, all plugins/addons unloaded, get in game > 15 seconds later: crash

Edit: Okay so I reinstalled Windower over the previous one, still not addons/plugins, still crashes. Do I have to delete anything or a set of things before installing?
Or do I just move everything out I want to save and scorched-Earth it?

When I had windower caused crashing problems, I completely uninstalled windower, then reinstalled it, and it fixed it.

I just renamed it to W4old and did an install, now i can start porting stuff over and wait for the inevitable.
