I turned on the pet fix addon. stayed in my moghouse a while and i headed to eldieme to help someone with the gate and in one of the zonings i noticed an error pop up and go away. i hit insert and saw a few errors, So i dunno when they happened but i guess i jsut never noticed them (i watch netflix alot while i play so may have missed it easily, lot of console messages come up and fade away very fast)

pet_fix: lua error (runtime) yakkitysmakkityblahblah...addons/pet_fix/pet_fix.lua:106; attempt to index a nil value.

Also i know guildwork might not be you guys exactly but i notice when its loaded and i log out of my main character i always get:

guildwork encountered a fatal error and must be terminated. error: access violation in IncomingChunk method.

Is there a way to make to not have the plugin overlap the game? I find when I have a lot of buffs on me I can't read anything on the top of the screen due to timers being obnoxious.

You mean have it outside of the game window? If so, that doesn't work. But you can minimize it by adjusting the settings file (in Windower/plugin/settings/Timers.xml), you can disable graphical mode, turn on slim mode or filter certain buffs/timers you don't care about.

Is there a way to add am3 duration to timers? Dont see an option but some people say it shows up for them. Appreciate it.

Many people use Gearsweap to create custom timers for AM3. I can't remember how to do it off the top of my head, but I'd ask in that thread and someone should be able to help you.

Been gone since around August. Any worthwhile additions or things that I wouldn't know about otherwise? and Battlemod + Kparser co-exist yet or is that just a pipe dream?

I've looked in to this, and scoreboard or the xml library is at fault for this. Scoreboard uses <1>, <2>, and <3> as xml tags, which are not valid xml because they starts with a number (and are just a number). Previous config.lua somehow got around this, but current config.lua does not. If we are going to allow invalid xml tags, then that should be an adjustment made in the xml library. The real solution is to fix scoreboard, though.

I'm daunted by the possibility of touching any of them, so I shan't.

Ok now that i have had time to watch for it this definitely comes up when zoning (but not everytime). today however I had been sitting in moghouse a good while and it just came up randomly. I hadn't typed or moved or anything in game as i was browsing the web in firefox on my second monitor.

Is there a cold chance in hell that Windowerv4 could run through a commandline such that Wine might be able to run it? I tried Linux on a weekend about 2 weeks ago and everything FFXI-wise worked fine except windower, since it uses some .net extension that both mono and the winetricks dotnet installation supports. I suspect what it was trying to use was GUI related, though. I also tried both the latest released dev build and the stable release of wine.

I suspect that even if you could run it without said problem, it wouldn't work because I'm sure windower uses some fancy footwork to work around windows API to inject dlls which wine probably doesn't support yet.

I'm not sure there's enough demand to really even try to devote resources to this, because in theory Wine itself will eventually support the missing APIs and windower won't have to do a thing.

I fixed that on Sunday already, did you update since then?

No can do I'm afraid. I mean, we could do it, but it wouldn't work ;p The main hooking library Windower 4 uses for all its hooks is MadCHook, which doesn't work on Wine and we have no way around it, as we do not have the source for it. That said, the launcher currently does all of the important injecting, so there's no way to bypass it, even if it doesn't display it would break if it can't find the WPF dependencies. The Launcher itself is a .NET application which uses WPF, which Mono doesn't support at all and does not plan to.

So you can forget running Windower 4 under Wine, however Windower 5 (not even close to having a release date) might work. We do not have our main focus on it, but we do code it with portability in mind and we don't know of anything in particular that would not make it work on Wine. We do still plan to use WPF for the Windower 5 launcher because it's the awesomest thing ever and the Mono project be tripping for not planning on including it. However, we are willing to provide a Linux-friendly launcher for it, because there it might actually work. For Windower 4, however, I'm afraid there's no chance.

That is a more than sufficient explanation. I am satisfied and I do think it's odd that the wine team simply doesn't think its worth it. I'm sure that will change over the years though... they'll have to support it eventually! Shame about the missing source to the hook. That's always a problem to development

    Thanks Arcon.

I have rebooted FFXI bout 2 times a day this week. But if u did it later on Sunday it was possible the error i got this morning was before i rebooted today, the last time i launched before the login campaign maint it did a update so we will see. So far so good tho. One of the weird things was the error only popped up on one of my characters (dual boxing).

Before anyone goes about depreciating tparty, doesn't that also handle mob HP percents?
