I've been having this issue recently myself. Not sure if this is the best place to put the crash dump. But here it is

Reloading Timers always seems to cause my PC to crash. Particularly annoying since it becomes unusable after about an hour due to it slowly snaking down the screen until eventually becoming unreadable.

I'll try to get a crash dump but idk if that works in this case, I'd have to get one for the graphics drivers or something

I had that same problem, Proth, but it worked fine if I did unload timers/load timers instead.

I think we've worked out what the fundamental problem with Timers crashing is, so hopefully a real fix will be in place pretty soon.

    Didn't work for me.
Sometimes it would crash even with the unload command.
In my case it wasn't a 100% issue though, sometimes it would work fine.

Proth if you don't want the "slowly occuyping too much space on screen" issue you can use the version Arcon linked a few pages ago. That issue is solved on that version.
You also need to use the new hook though (linked on previous page) or game will randomly crash after a while.

If someone wants to test, the dev Hook and dev Timers may now be crash free.
    http://update.windower.net/dev/Hook.dll
    http://update.windower.net/dev/plugins/Timers.dll

We'd appreciate if you could test it, but no guarantees, so do not use it in important events yet.

And just updated the Hook again, in case you got it already. Version 4.2.7.2 should be the most recent.

Yess more updates, Acron is the best. On a side note, I was having a different issue, where if I either 1) unload then load timers or 2) reload timers, the old graphics will stay on screen, which cause the reloads to become ineffective because the bars are stacked on top of each other. Is this something I will see resolved in the new hook? Going to try it out when I get home today, great work so far btw!

That issue randomly happened to me too even in the old pre-arcon-modified Timers.
Just like some cooldowns would stay on screen when switching jobs (some stratagems, Chakra etc).
    It's not a new issue I'm afraid.

Does it happen 100% of the times for you?

The timers not being removed on job change was a logic issue in the plugin and should be fixed (or rather, a consequence of the major recode it underwent).

The timers remaining after Timers was unloaded was a Hook issue and should also be fixed.

The job change one is easily resolved by making sure you reset timers on them. For example, if you are NIN/WAR, and Yonin is on cooldown, make sure you change SJ first so Yonin remains in your JA list and gets reset, then timers will refresh it correctly. In the same scenario, if you change main job first, say do PLD/WAR, Yonin is no longer on your JA list and timers can't track it, so it just freezes up and remains there.

Like I said, this should not be needed at all anymore with Timers version 3.x.

Arcon quick question, since a few (non live) versions I noticed that in the XML you split "flashduration" in 3 for the 3 windows (Recast, Buffs, Custom), but the old one (Flashduration) is still there as well.
What is the purpose of this one when you have the three new ones?

No purpose, it just doesn't delete older entries. There are a few things that are not needed anymore. You can delete the settings file and reload Timers, it'll create one with only the entries it currently uses, then you can copy your values over (if you care, it doesn't hurt it to have them there).

Something appears to be messing up the toon Name that appears as the title of the client. At least while doing login points, it only seems to update about 50% of the time. While doing one account I had the same mule name remain for 8 mules. It doesnt change back to "Final Fantasy 11" when logging out so does not update to new name when selecting a new mule.

I just grabbed the new dev hook and timers files, but did not pay attention if any other addons/plugins were updated. Noted this as the issue was not happening 12 hours ago and I believe the only change were these 2 files.

Took a while, but I crashed with that hook/dll. Crash dump. One thing to note is that I logged in with buffs already present on my BLM/RDM (Prot/Shell/Refresh), added some new ones (Stoneskin/Phalanx etc), and proceeded to farm sparks solo (lots of mobs/AoE spells). Dunno if that information helps, but thought I'd throw that out there. I never crashed on my THF earlier soloing Dynamis, lots of JAs used and no problem at all.

Yeah, like I said we eliminated a major crash source, but not the only one. That crash dump was helpful, I'll probably have that crash fixed shortly and push a new Hook then.
