Crash to desktop so no dumps, but the Timers crashes definitely happen during the blinky part when the timers are up for me

I'm pretty sure it's timers at least, wasn't crashing before it updated. Old version caused no crashes for me, and it's not the update becasue the dev version of timers caused a crash for me as well, even before the VU.

    Edit: Event viewer log.

Need a crash dump, follow the instructios Arcon linked in the previous page.
I'll admit I haven't been playing much lately, but haven't seen a single crash on my bard since I updated the hook.

Pretty much the same is happening to me, and I've literally been halted doing CP farming due to Subduction spamming causing crashing 2-3 times an hour. I've attempted just turning off the blinking indicator....except that even when set to false it still shows.

Arcon's DumpSetup.exe does absolutely nothing otherwise I'd post the dump itself. Rebooting (incase a potential registry location didn't set) did nothing, and even manually creating the folder did nothing. I'll see if I can't get WinDbg to work.

This patch has been an absolute nightmare trying to play.

I can tell you right now that it won't work. As it says on the page I linked to, this will not catch crashes to desktop (i.e. crashes without the error message, crashes that just make the FFXI window suddenly disappear), just like WinDbg won't, so you don't even need to try. The only way to debug those kinds of crashes is to figure out when and where it's crashing (as in, under which circumstances). It would really help if I had a way to reproduce it, but I realize that's hard to do...

If you can give me any information on it I'd appreciate it, so I know where to look. Suteru mentioned it happens when the timers are blinking, is that the same for you? If so, that's where I can start looking.

I'm 99.99% sure that's the case. The blinking's weird from this update (black, yellow blink instead of the light white blinking before the patch), and will not turn off. Losing a Salvage tag isn't too bad, but it's crashed twice in the last BR2 and last resulted in my dying due to the large gear pack pulls (my own fault but *shrugg*). First crash happened right as Chain Affinity came off cooldown on the Troll Guardian, the second on the large triple gear packs on the 3rd floor on a Subduction recast.

As large as it is, would a process dump help at all? I can get a share link setup for that if need be.

EDIT: I'm not crashing straight to desktop (typical POL has stopped responding error prompt), I'm simply seeing the same problems that Suteru is for clarification.

Oh in that case any regular dump will do. It's still weird that the DumpSetup method didn't work for you. Did it say that it completed successfully when you run it? (You can safely run it again to try.)

If yes and it still isn't saving any dumps, can you check if the following registry key exists and if so, paste its contents:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Wind ows Error Reporting\LocalDumps

Or, if you use a 64 bit operating system:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps

It's listed in the data field of the string value for DumpFolder with the default dump number of 4 (and directory).... it's just not creating dumps.

And yeah, ran it 2-3 times and always says successfully created the regkey, just doesn't make dumps.

EDIT: Just crashed again on a Stone recast while doing the slime event. Getting a dump of the process for at least something for now and I'll post a link in a minute. (Sent via PM).

The "occasionally crashes when logging between characters" has returned! I'll do a dump next time I crash.

It might be BMN or Spellcast, because I didnt crash doing the rest of my relogs and I unloaded those.

I just crashed on my PC using a home point warp. I have 2 accts running on my PC, with identical settings, and only one crashed. I do have a dump, but I dont know where I should post it?

If you mean a vanilla windowed mode. Yes open the ffxi config that is in the start menu folder after installation and check the appropriate box

Should the TParty plugin still work? I have both the addon and plugin loaded, mob hp% shows up now but TP doesn't.

The plugin does HP%, TP and alliance MP, the addon only does HP%. If Party TP doesn't show up you probably only have the addon loaded. Can you try to do //load tparty and see if it shows up?

I have both the plugin and addon enabled in the windower4 launcher. //load tparty in game gives me "Error: tparty - Plugin already loaded."

In general you should never use both the plugin and the addon. If you want Party TP display, use the plugin. The addon was not made to handle party/alliance TP/MP because FFXI now supports it natively. If the plugin alone does not display your party's TP it's a bug.

I only had the plugin enabled when I first noticed all the TParty stuff(player/party/alliance tp, alliance mp, target hp%) was missing. I only enabled the addon afterwards so I could at least see target hp%.

Also only one of them show things for trusts, although i cant remember which one that is. the official tp/mp function doesnt show trust so using the one that works with trusts is what i do.

Well idk what the problem was, but reinstalling windower4 and the plugin fixed it.
