mages who idle in club and switch to staff to cast something will still blink
Even swapping Ranged weapons will produce the same effect. For instance a Ninja idling with Shuriken swapping to Yetshila or Qirmiz Tathlum during WS will produce a Blink. (and this blink doesn't really make much sense, alas)
I don't swap Staff > Club anymore on GEO, but there's still the animation of Impatiens>Handbell that also generates a blink, which is lame, and yeah... those bubbles popping/repopping can be pretty annoying lol
DressUp fixes those problems
XIDB requires we find/export the new maps, we find export the new monster lists (something changed and broke it a while ago, I guess?), Arcon gets access to the new zones and defines their limits (what the map positions are for two points), and it hasn't happened yet.
Don't expect to find a solution to this, but can't really think of a better place to ask.
Very, very, very rarely there are times where XI will hard crash my computer. I can't ctrl+alt+del or alt+tab, graphics freeze, but sound often keeps going as usual. The most common catalyst of this usually involve me WSing, and not just a specific WS. It's happened with Windower and Ashita, and I'd assume it'd happen with vanilla if I played on it long enough (god no). I've tried to look into event viewer for some kind of error or crash report, but it only shows me manually powering off my PC to restart. I'm ultimately suspecting it's something to do with Nvidia drivers, and those are up to date (as of a couple days ago, anyway). Is there somewhere else I can look specifically to try and isolate this problem?
If the sound keeps changing (new notes in songs, potentially button presses making sounds) then you're describing a deadlock probably in or near the display drivers. If the sound keeps playing but you can't hear noises associated with input, it might be further away than your display drivers.
Hard crashing your computer would be something like a blue screen, which doesn't seem like what you're experiencing.
Either way, the solution path is probably:
1) mess with your drivers
2) reinstall windows
3) start changing hardware
I used to get something like what you're describing on my laptop when it would overheat and the display driver would crash, but after a few seconds it would pop up and tell me "display driver crashed" and then resume working.
Any chance of gearcollector being fixed? I've just came back so I am not aware of any replacements (besides organizer) I just really cannot be fucking bothered to gear all of my jobs the oldschool way to save all the scripts. I would rather not.
I lost my prior video card to either overheating or the fact our power here can be kinda spiky, thus frying it that way. When I'd disassembled it to put on some thermal paste in hopes of prolonging its life, I noticed 2 of the pads along the card chips within the casing had effectively melted away. Before this card got replaced, I did get the nvidia errors and occasionally the BSoD, but this card hasn't gotten to that point yet and hopefully won't until I can scrounge together the cash for a new tower.
Actual heat-wise, I think this card hovers around 60c when I've got a decent load going, which I think is still fairly safe. Contrary to the last one occasionally hitting 80-85c in games like Tera. My tower's big, so I'm not worried about air flow and I do take it downstairs periodically to shoot some air into it to clear dust. Though I do generally worry about the fact my room doesn't get the best heating/AC in the house. Not so much a problem when it's mild or cold, but summer's not my favorite seasons for largely this reason.
In the end, I think I'm erring more toward driver issue, but I just don't know what to do about that as I've encountered this issue with different drivers from nvidia over time. When it does lock, I can't input anything nor does my mouse respond, so the only sounds that keep going are the zone background or maybe winamp if I have that open. I just called it a hard crash since I couldn't ctrl+alt+del out of the program.
Sorry, I didn't know it was missing the new maps. I don't check these forums as frequently as I used to. Can you see if this works for you?

Edit:
Bugging me on IRC or GitHub is usually the way to go.
Any chance i get to use macro keys on my redragon yama keyboard?
btw anyone know what happened to this? http://ffxidb.com/zones
Is that supposed to be something other than a list of zones to click and see the drops in said zone?
drop rates
Drop rates for what? That's a zone page
http://ffxidb.com/zones/7/bifrons
i meant the page in general.
Like escha zones arent included and so on
