Any chances setbgm will be updated to include RoV music?
Any chances setbgm will be updated to include RoV music?
FFXIDB has been kinda neglected. I'll see about revitalizing the project this week. We needed to fix some issues with POLUtils some while ago (which may already be fixed). Then we can update the site.
Don't exactly know where to put this. But this seems like a fun bug in FFXI:
Spoiler: show
- Fighting Kabandha
- Have Balamor trust out because he can't affected by "Deathly Glare"
- All trusts but him die
- Caper Emisarius him
- 15-20 second later Battlemod spits out error and game crashes
This has happened twice to me so far. My friend who was there without Windower ALSO crashed. He said that suddenly "Thunder Elementals" apeared halfway stuck in the ground. As he tried to target one the game crashed.
Fun stuff
Is there an addon capable of displaying tallies of points during dragon fights in Domain Invasion similar to the way the delve and reive plugins work? It looks like silt and capacity points are doled out at intervals of the fight and easily lost in all the spam.
FFXIDB should be up and running again, but there will need to be more data collected for the newer zones to make it usable. I also need to add new maps for the zones (as in the map images), so you won't find spawn points on there yet until I do.
Getting this error today addons/visiblefavor/visiblefavor.lua:73: attempt to index a nil value
Any way we can help with this? Do you have the maps? If not you can find them here:
http://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/47...k-soa-and-rov/
(second link, the one "for developers", should have un-edited maps, which is likely what you want to use for FFXIDB)
Just on the offchance someone can help me with this. Came back to the game - fresh game install on windows 8 and the game works fine un-windowed... try to use windower and it's just crashing on the moment it switches from POL viewer into the XI screen... does this windowed/borderless windowed/full screen.
Try enabling DirectPlay in Add or Remove features. (Just search for that in the start menu search)
Byrth something inside the lastest windower patches have broke up InstaLS I'm afraid
What does it do?
It doesn't work right after a zoning; linkshell message displays in white, sometimes with the [1] <Sechs> ... message
Sometimes even if I press ctrl+l multiple times, it just drops the message in /say, multiple times.
First behaviour is more common, second happened only twice.
What exactly did you type to get the [1] <Sechs> message?
The color issues are due to another addon that you have loaded which appears to be reverting the text back to the original line color. There's nothing I can do about that other than finding the other addon and fixing its behavior.
Most important thing is: No matter what it looks like for you, it will always end up in linkshell chat.
Oh I have been meaning to ask about InstaLS. I thot its purpose was to allow you to speak in LS immediately after zoning but it doesnt seem to be workin for me. although 2 days ago maybe I saw some text in white when i chatted from my mule who hadnt zoned (just after zoning on my main) This is the only time that happened and I had no idea it was a instaLS thing.
If i talk after zonign it jsut tells me i dont have a linkshell equipped. So if talkinin ls after zoning isnt the purpose can u refresh me over what its sposed to be doin? (PS im on XP pc so prolly that effing me again here.)
instaLS
The problem:
The game will not send messages via linkshells until they load in your inventory. If your linkshell is in a low priority inventory (like your satchel), there can be a delay of up to 30 seconds after zoning where you can't use it.
The solution:
instaLS circumvents this problem in the following way:
1) It detects you attempting to say something in linkshell after zoning (/l, /linkshell, /l2, /linkshell2)
2) It changes the prefix to /s (say) and stores the message.
3) The game generates a speech packet, which contains a byte that indicates whether the speech is say, party, linkshell, shout, yell, etc.
4) instaLS intercepts that speech packet and switches the mode back to linkshell (or linkshell2)
5) The game also adds speech to the chat log.
6) instaLS attempts to identify and intercept that speech, switching it back to the right color and adding the normal linkshell format.
7) Once your inventory loads, instaLS deactivates itself until the next time you zone.
I don't remember but it happened regardless of the message.
What could be the culprit? Been using InstaLS since release and never saw this behaviour. The color issues are due to another addon that you have loaded which appears to be reverting the text back to the original line color.
Also it's not permanently white. It's only white the few seconds after zoning. If I wait a bit longer and send more messages they go back to the original colour.
The forced /say instead of /l behaviour only happened twice so far for me, but same result. After a few seconds everything was working nice.
My LS buddies reported not receiving the message, but this might be because they were zoning too or w/e else, needs more testing I guess. Most important thing is: No matter what it looks like for you, it will always end up in linkshell chat.
Can you even equip a Linkshell from your satchel? I thought it had to be in your inventory to be equipped![]()
