    Since the last update, windower 4 has switched from intermittently crashing upon exiting the client, to simply locking up. The game window freezes instead of attempting the transition back to POL, but becomes unresponsive. I need to open task manager to close it. Prior to now it was doing the "normal" crash on exit thing.

    Using Windows 7 64 bit.

    In case nobody noticed, the author of the Reive addon published a new addon to track Plasm, numbers of monsters killed and Airlixirs dropped inside a fracture.
    Name of this addon is Plasmon, still in the early stages I suggest everyone interested to download it, test it and submit feedback.

    This has been happening to me for the last month at least.

    I notice that my muling crashes seem to be gone now, though.

    Have you tried to play without Windower and see if it still occurs?

    Do you have mouse_blockinput turned on? That was causing weird things for me.

    exact same issue for me.. i had my session freeze about 7x yesterday afternoon alone.. had to task manager end task as it was "not responding" couldnt even alt-tab back to the screen to see it. Tried unloading a bunch of plugins including spellcast etc... issue still happend. seems to usually be when i'm alt-tab'ing back and forth between 2 FFXI sessions or the interwebs.

    Nope, not turned on.

    @Byrth

    I haven't tried (the thought of playing windower-less makes me shudder, really). Do you have any proposals as to what it might be (vid card?).. I'll do it if I have to to confirm but the prospects of trying to replicate an issue that occurs very very randomly while playing windowerless is not really appealing. Not sure if it might make any difference, but I usually DB, and the bug has only occured on my main. Today, latest it happened, whited out main and crashed second at same time though not sure it was unrelated.

    Trying to add any addon creates the correct folder structure/file names but the files are all copy's of the 'addons.xml' inside. Haven't touched or changed anything prior, so just me or a known issue?

    The bug has been reported, although currently the cause is unknown.

    My buddy directed me to a plugin; sandbox.dll. Said it was in beta (i never got the actual download site, he skyp'd it to me) but i was wondering if it has any supporting documentation. It's basically supposed to fix the chatlog issue/crashes associated with said issue, but not actually have to run XI-utils to accomplish the sandboxing.

    Anyone else heard about this? I surmise/suspect that XI-utils is causing my instances to hang (i usually run 4 sandboxed instances on one computer, and it ran fine until about the delve update a few weeks ago).

    Also, if no info on that perticular plugin, i will say that when the delve update was pushed out, i forgot to un-initilaize my sandbox's, ran the update, and downloaded like 3 files and i realized what i did and canceled the update, and un-initilized then updated. it seems to be working fine, but for these random crashes now.

    I posted that here. As you said, it's in beta, but it's still unclear whether it will be released as an actual plugin or built into core, hence no official release yet.

    Two things, first, XI-Util has been known to mess with the Sandboxing plugin (although it shouldn't cause any crashes, but hard to say with certainty), so you should definitely not use them together.

    Second, if you updated with XI-Util's sandboxing enabled, it might have screwed your installation up, even if you canceled and updated normally afterwards. There have been reports of people getting royally screwed over by that. Unfortunately, you may need to reinstall XI fully. On the bright side, though, this will never happen with the plugin.

    Also, the bug where every file contained a copy of addons.xml has been fixed.

    Windower4 is just crashing on startup for me now, and it was working just fine (well, fine-ish- I started getting really bad lag about a week and a half ago whenever I had a browser open) before I went to bed last night. I'm not super sure how to remedy this, beyond trying to uninstall/reinstall.


    EDIT: Errrr....nevermind? The phantom computer spirits seem to have fixed it.

    Battlemod has a new condensedamage setting. I am trying to move it towards displaying entire attack rounds in one line, but it is difficult to combine all the information and come up with something legible. I can obviously drop data, which I may add as an option, but at the moment it just combines similar messages.

    Add:

    To turn it on.

    Could you provide an example, please? I'm not sure I understand how it works, does it display, for example, triple attacks, damage values included, in one line? And what if one of them misses, etc?

    This single attack round (5 hits):
    Byrth 54 Hit -> Supernal Chapuli
    Byrth 72 Hit -> Supernal Chapuli
    Byrth 150 Crit -> Supernal Chapuli
    Byrth 61 Hit -> Supernal Chapuli
    Byrth Miss -> Supernal Chapuli
    Becomes this:
    Byrth 187 Hit [3] -> Supernal Chapuli
    Byrth 150 Crit -> Supernal Chapuli
    Byrth Miss -> Supernal Chapuli
    It just reduces chat spam a little. A round with 4 non-crits would be reduced to "$Player $TotalDamage Hit [4] -> $Target"






    Ultimately, I want to move damage condensation for the above round to something like this:
    Byrth 327 Hit [4/5] -> Supernal Chapuli
    However, this loses information and creates some problems:
    1) The line can only be one color so I have to either choose to make it a "hit" color or a "miss" color.
    2) I lose any information about how the 5th attack disappeared. Was it a parry? Is the monster in THF 2-hour? Did I miss? Was it a shadow? etc.
    3) Now I only have "Hit" to describe normal melee rounds. I cannot give information about critical hits anymore.
    4) I gave the option to filter misses, which blocks output. In order to implement this I would have to handle filtering slightly differently.
    5) I would need to restructure the way battlemod interprets the action packet in order to accommodate this.

    I could do some kind of longer breakout like this:
    Byrth 327 3xHit, 1xCrit, 1x Miss -> Supernal Chapuli
    but that just isn't legible on the fly and shares problems 1,2, 4, and 5 above. Like, if my log looked like that then I don't think I could get a real appreciation for even how often I was attacking per round.

    Does anyone have suggestions for what might work? Am I just crazy for not liking the above two options?

    I thought about this before, and the best thing I came up with was something like this:
    Arcon -> Taisaijin, main [shadow, 101, 245], off [miss, parry]

    You could either append a "c" or something to crits, or mark them in a different color or something. Personally I'd much prefer this to multiline options, because it would also be very easy to tell what was all in one round, especially when the attacks get hasty.

    Never used battlemod before, is there a way to not have it do all the fancy stuff, and just have a faster chatlog and the /check thing? I dont really care about the:
