Is there something you are doing to make it consistently crash? How long has this been happening?

Has anyone figured out why the game crashes on /logout? Its usually not a big deal, because most people who are logging out are shutting down, but with the "Log in your mules daily", its very noticable.
The only sort of consistency I've encountered is that sometimes I'll error out upon zoning into the lobby of Legion. Sometimes even then, I'll see people start making actions and then I'll error out. Delve seems to be completely random - sometimes I'll be in the middle of a graphically intense battle where I'm trying to keep track of what I'm singing when POL craps out, other times I've just been following everyone from one room to another. Salvage seems to be random too but seems to be mostly on zoning in.
The most annoying though is when I'm just in town not really don't anything and then I crash. I can stay logged in but afk for multiple hours, but then walking through Adoulin or Jeuno or anyplace really always carries a risk of POL crashing. Sometimes it seems to be a factor of time, othertimes it just seems that it's just random. I can't go through a single day without a POL crash now.
I do have a older and crappy computer which may be contributing to the problem, but I really do think it only started happening like it has after switching over to Windower4. I never crashed out of Legion or Salvage before then. I even had a HD failure a few weeks ago, and had to reinstall everything from scratch, and the problem has persisted through that.
I don't know anything but I had this problem A LOT. Now when I start the game I do not load spellcast/guildwork and I can mule endlessly. Not that I'm blaming either, just my personal experience and I'm leaning more towards spellcast and perhaps the way I use it being the issue. if I been playing a bit and unload both spellcast and guildwork I still sometimes crash logging to a mule. So... I try to do all my logins/muling first, then load up spellcast/guildwork and go.
No can has
Shortcuts gives me an error, even when I am not typing anything that it would be used for. I dont use it anymore since it started erroring but i will try it out if i think about it and report if there is a error code later.
I unload all of my plug-ins and add-ons, and crash nonetheless. It's frustrating, as I'm often in an environment where user switching, locking my workstation, etc., is necessary—as such, I'd love to be able to log out to PlayOnline, minimize it, and then simply re-enter the game later. However, I've accepted that it will likely never be fixed. First world problems and all that.
Blinkmenot used to crash me after a couple mule logins. Not sure if it does that anymore, but I have since stopped it from loading normally, and just load it when I need it.
You may want to try that: turn the plugins off in the launcher (so they never load when you start the game, as unloading afterward can cause problems as well, randomly, in my usage) and then load them manually later when you need them if you think you'll be doing a lot of muling before you do something on your main (like with this current login thing). Can probably make a windower alias or text file to load all your normal plugins with a single command too.
I put in a temp fix for Shortcuts, but I'm not sure why it's throwing an error there. I couldn't replicate the problem with an alpha hook/version of LuaCore that has some things about "target" changed, so perhaps it has something to do with that.
We might be referring to 2 different issues. I still crash most of the time on shutdown. But I was crashing all the time just muling which is what I think he was referring to. I'm just throwing it out there that if I never load spellcast/guildwork I never crash just muling.
Is there any addon I can use to set up an audio alert in response to reive status? Like what weathermon does.
you can maybe set up autoexec to detect the reive status buff and play a sound. i used to use it for weather sounds before weathermon
ok got the shortcut error
Lua -- ...am Files (x86)\windower4\/addons/shortcuts/shortcuts.lua. 131.attempt to index local 'r_line' (a nil value)
will pop up multiple times in succession sometimes in the windower window. i jsut notices it says windower4\/addons then starts usin the otehr / instead of \ like after (x86). im not to programmer smart so excuse me if thats a normal thing.
To clarify, you're looking for something that alerts you a reive has started? I'm assuming that's what you mean - the Chatmon plugin can do that. This page will have what you're looking for in a bit more detail than I could likely explain it: http://wiki.windower.net/display/Windower/ChatMon
In a nutshell, add something along the lines of this into your config file:
Code:<trigger match="*whatever the campaign-like message that you receive in your log alerting you that a reive has starting somewhere goes here*" from="All" sound="IncomingTalk[or the path name to whatever .wav sound you like here]" />
No, neither of those. I usually am literally just walking. It never happens right away (like i jsut logged in and it pops up, that doesnt happen) just after a while and i will usually get 3 of these in a row on either character i have. one is always whm. and the other has been on pld or dnc lately for the most part.
And i dont think it has ever come up when i typed anything. Sometimes im standing there but usually I will have jsut started walkin or have been walkin bout 30 seconds when it crops up.
Also for Battlemod, I believe you guys talked about along time ago makin the normal combat chat log stuff say whatever you wanted such as (from your earlier screen pics of it):
"Hey Byrth... Yo momma so fat that when she sits around the house, she sits aroooound the house... The Byrth takes 0 damage from that sick burn."
I would like to change the text to be more along the lines of what we see without battle mods, the --> is awfully weird for me to get used to and is the main reason i dont use it. But i never saw instructions on how to alter the chat text anywhere. Also is it true you tend to see TP moves mobs do faster using battlemod? I think i read that somewhere.
It may be slightly faster to see TP moves if you use battlemod.
If you open up the settings.xml file in the battlemod/data folder, you'll see the current text. You need to move around the ${terms} and put them however you like. If you get it working in a way that you like, please post it here:
