Samsung Galaxy S 4 Press Event March 14 7PM ET

    http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/...14-at-7pm-est/

Samsung is set to announce the next iteration of its Galaxy S smartphone series, the Galaxy S IV, at an event on the evening of March 14 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Ars reporters Casey Johnston and Andrew Cunningham will be in attendance, waiting, watching, and most importantly, liveblogging.

Samsung has betrayed little official information about the upcoming handset, save that it glows like the golden fleece in the arms of its captor, the fictional Jeremy Maxwell. Unofficially, the rumor mill has been rife with alleged leaks.

At this point, we can reasonably expect an eight-core processor, 1080p screen, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and a body design that is very similar to the Galaxy S III. We have a long wish list of features for the phone, including better battery life, a better camera, and a still-manageable body size. Ars readers would like to see a lower off-contract price and less invasive TouchWiz UX. We may even see the unveiling of an eye-tracking feature for scrolling and navigation.

You can follow along here with our up-to-the-minute words and pictures about and of Samsung’s launch event. The second we know, you’ll know.
Felt like posting this even though it looks like a GS3.

Welp, the rest is crap. Good shit, will buy, after actual testimonials of glitches or hardware malfunctions.

Some nice features. Not enough to pull me away from the loving arms of Apple. I sure wouldn't mind a 5" screen on my iPhone though.

The only thing attracting me to Samsung/Android is its open source. It's hard trying to change something on an Apple phone that you don't like, let alone feeling like big brother is looking over my shoulder how I'm trying to mod something I paid money for. Apple will still be the go to smart phone for the average consumer though, but as with everything technological, there will always be an increasing minority that will want to venture into the unknown who want to customize things the way they like.

You say that but Samsung sold more smartphones last year. And a lot people are saying the gs 4 can outsell them alone this year.

Its mostly because of the crazy marketing budget. 11billion?

Won't buy this myself, going to wait this one out, I'm very excited with Samsung's new glass that is coming out in a year or so

flexible glass is more so what I want. Should mean a glass that is very unlikely to break; this is what I want more then the next CPU.

Ordered mine through T-mobile this week.

I think they are released through all the major carries now, at least online.

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is less likely to remain your life companion if you drop it on the ground. The latest durability tests released by smartphone insurance vendor SquareTrade have found that the Galaxy S4 is more fragile than both the older Galaxy S III model and Apple’s iPhone 5. SquareTrade found that while the Galaxy S4 “proved slightly more water resistant than its predecessor,” it “actually performed worse in most other categories” by breaking more easily when dropped and by being more difficult to grip.
