Capcom announces new Strider game, from Double Helix

I must say they did a great job blending the action of the original arcade game with the exploration of the NES game.

Well, fair warning to anyone planning to buy this on PC. It varies person to person but game is buggy as hell for some people, myself included. Can't go for more then 20-30 seconds before the game freezes up. Gonna let it lie around for awhile and see if Capcom fixes it.

PC version is also 64 bit/DirectX 11 only, likely due to lazy porting since the graphics in no way require that kind of hardware.

There's a part in the research facility where you go down a shaft maneuvering around several laser beams. You can't go back up because of said lasers. At the bottom of said shaft, there's a light purple door on the left that I can't find a way to open. On the right, there's a room with two moving platforms, but they pass by two vertical beams.

What do?
Edit: not sure what I did, but the beams don't go through the platforms anymore.

Is this true? The #1 reason why I would get this is for Strider 1&2 being included. Otherwise, I might as well get Moon Diver which was made by some of the original Strider team and has 4 player online co-op for the same price.

If anyone has been keeping up with Super Best Friends celebrating Strider week, they're doing a play-through of the new game. This shit is so legit, I bought it after watching the first five minutes. $15 well spent.

Haven't gotten too far, but it feels like it's going to be as long as your average metroidvania subgenre.

Depending on the difficulty, you can put anywhere between 5 and 15 hours into it. It's pretty inclusive and challenging on the hardest settings. Metroidvania is perfect name too.

Beat it today in just over 11 hours. Though a large chunk of that was exploring and getting upgrades I missed along the way. The last boss fights were pretty fun. The robot voices remind me of Battlestar Galactica.

Also I can't help but make condiment jokes every time one of the guards says Meio's name.

It actually does. A bit shorter than I expected, pretty much groomed for multiple play throughs and speed runs.

Been playing a lot more of this. I just got the "purple" blade and I have to say I'm really enjoying this game.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I got bored quickly. So many of the genres best elements are too dumbed down for me to enjoy the game past the first impression. I'm trying to put more time in, but I end up stopping after two or three checkpoints cause its just boring.

Fighting the same few enemies doesn't help either I'm sure. I see why reviews are mediocre, its not a bad game by any means, but its not great either.
