So about this chocobo t-shirt... what's it do?
I think he means whats the "appreciates gyshal greens" part do.
hard to say since none of the content is actually in our hands yet, but I'd have to assume it'd take less time to get one than a relic, emp idk, those are pretty fast. Due to the fact that they're now saying we'll be able to upgrade R/M/E further, though, they'll stay at the top of the stack, however I'm sure the new weapons will still be usable alternatives.
I've stated this to people I've been playing with since the game began, but I sure do hope Adoulin brings back some of the unique zones Zilart and Chains brought this game.
They also had the best storylines, if you ask me. I think the Zilart need to return, because what ensues, is cool zones and storylines.
Ever since Chains ended, we haven't really seen anything super unique in the way of zones. It was Zilart that brought us Sky, and Chains brought us cool zones like Promyvion, Riverne, and Al'Taieu.
I hope Adoulin isn't just dungeons and forests. We need cool zones again. I wish we had a storyline setup to where you have to gain access to new zones through doing the storyline, ala Chains of Promathia, with an endgame zone accessed at the end, where you fight the last boss.
Anyone else hoping for that?
Arrapago Reef has been useless since inception (shame, its a HUGE zone) and Walk of Echoes had a loose tie into the main story and acts more like a BCNM lobby than an endgame place to be.
From Adoulin? I'd like a reason to fight trash mobs. A good reason. With a party.
True, but those zones were mostly empty, and served as a means to get to fights or instanced areas. Sky and Sea brought exploration with them, and you had to earn the right to access those zones.
Walk of Echoes was cool, but I wish it was a zone as big as Sky and Sea was, and you had to gain access to it, and it had it's own maps to collect and such.
Alzadaal was accessible early on, from what I remember.
I was hoping we would get to see the Underworld that was mentioned a lot during ToAU.
I don't want to get my hopes up about Adoulin having a cool story structure and truly unique zones, but the last track of the Soundtrack for SOA has a cool name. I hope it's a zone, and I hope you have to gain access to it.
So were Promys and Riverne, and basically all the other originally level capped zones in CoP.
Zones looking cool is great, but given the low amount of resources FFXI seems to get now, they need to be designed to be used a lot. IMO, walling them off with mission progress is counter to that. 'course, limiting travel via stuff like AN, or deliberately making them annoying to navigate won't help either.
I don't know what I want in Adoulin, maybe just new zones. We have had the old zones for a long time. Adoulin would be a nice change of pace. As for gear, I hope that it doesn't make everything else obsolete, VW, Abyssea, and NNI because you have to go through hell getting some pieces of gear in those areas but I do hope for some new gear.
I'm not really concerned about the new jobs, I just want to stay as BST but maybe I'll play around with Rune Fencer.
I still can't believe there's a new FFXI expansion going live tomorrow. It's been so long that simply seeing it happen is enough to make me excited about the game again.
The big turn off for me was having to farm weapons in the manner this game handles it compared to other MMOs. Being that they're supposedly introducing more weapon options for endgame with this expansion I am very excited to start playing again. The hard part is that I am anxiously awaiting ARR, and also that I have to decide whether or not to buy an expac for just my main, or my main + whm multibox mule account. :X
I'm actually still pretty disappointed about this expansion...It just feels so - so...Empty? It felt rushed and lacks the content that one might expect. Hopefully their version update will lift my disappointment.
For an expansion that's been out only a month, I'm satisfied so far. It sucks that they didn't add more ways to get good bayld, even if reive spam was left as the best, its disappointing that HELM, pyres (besides the lol50), or just straight killing mobs don't have some bayld accompanying it. The drop rate of Skirmish items is disappointing as well, but manageable since the AH is an option. The lack of missions kinda sucked. Was hoping for at least a bit more that set up the storyline, made us anticipate the next update. Atm, we're just kinda left with the ruler's sister having a crush on us, and some behind the scene political/natural hindrances causing drama. Another very in depth combat system going in place after only a month is a very good sign as well.
