It's mastercard yeah. I'm thinking I'm just gonna make a new paypal account for my australian card then pay someone ingame. This is all going real wierd with the proxy:

SE site:
"Outside our region" bullshit upon changing to UK IP address, changed my Aus billing address to my UK billing address, worked.
Get to last stage of payment, proxy ends (5min limit -.-), restart, error, no go.
Every time I've tried since then, even tho the proxy is a UK one, my card (old credit card, expires tomorrow!) is a UK one and my billing address is UK, it still gives me the "outside region" shit.

On gamesplanet, set up proxy (new one, 24hr trial) tried first time on account I tried with my australian card with - payment declined. Made a new account with a 2nd email, tried with uk card again, success, now they sent me that shitty verification email so i'll find out in a few hours. I need to buy 3 copies tho so went to buy a second, exact same second account, card details etc, 2nd was declined.

IDK how it works in australia, but since I have my paypal account linked to my bank, I paid for my gamersplanet purchase using direct draw from my bank. Credit card wasnt even involved. May want to look into that if you still having trouble

I purchased a copy of SoA for my desktop. It's the only copy I purchased so far. I've also got a laptop I use to play FFXI while I'm traveling.

My question is, do I need to purchase another copy for my laptop? Or, since I've already registered SoA on my account, when I log on via laptop, will the files will be updated automatically?

Any advice is appreciated.

You don't need to buy separate copies for different machines ^^; You register the expansion to your account which you can then use anywhere.

Just a general question about the new weapons that have come around with SoA.

I recently returned to game and I am a career SAM. I don't really have the gil for going for Amano so I started farming Masamune.

34/50 on Lanterns, and I have the 7.5M to buy the 50 gems (Can't be bothered soloing them on BST).

There isn't any chance that these new weapons will be easily accessible, is there? Like a decent drop rate and everyone will have one?

I just dont want to waste 7.5M, then probably another 10-12M on Hearts to find that 90 Masamune is beatable by an easy drop!?

Any feedback is appreciated.

You will have to install it on both machines, but you only need to purchase one code for your account.

Seems random. I'll go on a 10+ streak and get 1.2-1.6 only. Get a 5.0 or 3.0 after only two wins.

Edit: Also not tied to how many guesses left. Just ended with 4 left for 1.2.

Hi, I just recently registered my account, because I wanted to say thank you for posting the Seekers of Adoulin install links. One thing I wanted to point out was how the cairxi link canceled on me three times mid-download, but the tehkrizz link worked fine the first time. Anyway, I appreciate the rips!

Used the SoA link of Cairthenn's on my laptop. Most new armors as well as maps weren't showing up, shields in faces, swords on floors, etc. Couldn't enter Adoulin which was fixed when I downloaded the fix from ah.com general (missing roms and sounds) but other problems persisted. Just got home and downloaded the Krizz link on my home pc, zero problems. Unistalled and redid everything on my laptop, all problems solved.

FYI -- for those who missed the Amazon coupon a few weeks ago, cheapest place to get SoA right now seems to be GameFly with -20% coupon "GFDAPR20" off digital downloads (until 4/12). Coupon appears to be only valid for a single use per account. I just used it on the Seekers Collection, but presumably it should work on the expansion-only SoA as well.

I removed my link. It's a really poor host, I just had it up initially for when people were having issues finding an install. It worked for awhile, guess that didn't last very long!

I have FFXI up to Abyssea on Steam. I bought SoA from Gamefly. Do I just register the code, download from gamefly, then copy/paste the ROM files into the steam directory?

If anyone comes to this thread looking for information regarding a full FFXI update (i.e., from a fresh installation), both the 4shared and FileFactory links here now contain up to Day 1 Adoulin data. I'll be replacing the torrent shortly, but in the meantime, any late re-joiners who must conduct a total reinstall can go there.

I have the official JP install discs and a Free McBoot memory card but not sure what I need to patch in order to get everything working correctly. Will this ever install properly without the NA disc ID code for DNAS? (since it doesn't exist...) Could we grab the files off a JP HDD and import them via some uLaunchELF utility?

I responded to this user via PM, as they had messaged me privately, but for the sake of public knowledge, I'll copy and paste my response here:

Someone else was discussing this with me in BG Chat a while ago, and I'll confess that I'm not entirely sure as to whether this will work or not. Furthermore, if Square Enix decides to penalize people who imported the PlayStation 2 version of Seekers and patched their game in this way, they will be able to detect it. When they run a scan on your character, it will report your platform and expansion level, and if an NA PS2 player has Adoulin—well, you can imagine what their reaction might be.

I do not believe it would fail if your disc ID was correct, although I do not have the disc ID for Adoulin. Is that what you're talking about applying a patch for? Do you already have the utility for determining disc IDs?

Whether the disc would install or not is a different story altogether. I know how the different regions are identified in the Windows registry on PC, but I do not know how and where the regional designations and/or checks in the entirely different PlayStation 2 version reside. Even though your modded system will be fine with reading a JP region disc, the software itself may detect an invalid installation (or no installation) and proceed no further, even after all that work you've done. You could perhaps look at your PS2 file system and see if it does label the FFXI folder hierarchy in some kind of way (e.g., PlayOnlineUS, FFXIUS—I haven't peeked at it ever, and the only fat PS2 I've got with FFXI on it has been in storage for a couple years, so I don't know).

Again, though, I don't necessarily recommend it—I don't believe that their system will have an automatic check for NA PS2 players signing on with an expansion that is not available in their region, but it may, and if a GM ever runs your info, you're caught.

So the second tally occurred and I have a plethora of questions to better "understand" the full extent of the changes and their consequences.
Anybody knows where I can find some detailed information about that?

Stuff like:
1) What does the "level" of a coalition represent, the number of "upgrades" that have been voted by people?
2) There has to be a threshold, like people can still vote X or Y but if a certain threshold (colonization?) isn't reached then the vote won't matter
3) What does each levelup bring to us players?
4) Can a coalization "level down"?
5) What's the price of the bodies and heads? (not unlocked on my server but I assumed in some other it did happen?)
6) Can Peacekeeper reive weapons be augmented?
