I guess I did already know you were a "go down with the ship" kinda guy. Fine by me lol.

It's more of a delightful hybrid. I'm just waiting for Braun to make the heel turn, becoming the bad boy of baseball.
I have to agree with you about the information leaking thing though. This whole mess is just bad for the sport as a whole. If people just kept covering this shit up like they have been recently then it wouldn't be an issue, but baseball's reputation isn't going anywhere, and it's even further from being in the Olympics now.
The whole anti-doping shit from Selig is mostly a front because the Olympics won't let baseball in because doping is still too rampant. I don't know where this whole "all the players are loudly against doping" story I see around is coming from; unless everyone's already moved on and accepted that HGH doesn't count lol
Welp, that was a fun winning streak. Consider it a victory if he doesn't injure Puig in some ridiculous manner.
I enjoy how MLB is rolling out suspensions 1 by 1 "AROD IS NEXT!" so that for the next 4 months all we'll hear about baseball is about how dirty it is.
Idiots.
They should want the rules to be enforced, but they should very much not want enforcing the rules to be a big news story, and should go about it in as low-key a way as possible...so basically the exact opposite of what they're doing.
On the note of Bagwell.. I dunno, I'm sorry, but when I think 'greatest power hitters of all time'.. or a top 10, Jeff Bagwell doesn't come to mind, and yeah, he had a 1.201 OPS in 94.. one of nine players to do that. Jeff Bagwell? Obviously hate throwing 'lel he wasn't clean lel' around, but considering it's turning out a ton of people weren't.. who knows.
Hall of Fame sucks anyway. Gambling worse than PEDs.
I think it's hard to argue he wasn't a top-10 all time first baseman, at the very least. If you have 10 of every position, you have only 80 position players. There 236 players currently in the hall.
Bagwell top ten, no. Top ten first basemen, yes. I'd put him in the top 50 of all time as well.
I don't know about that.
If he ended up playing in Boston instead of Houston he would have gotten a ton more hype.
Career WAR Bagwell is 63rd. Sounds about right. His 1993-2003 is about as good as anyone's peak years.
Frank Thomas
Yeah Frank was a better hitter, worse fielder, kind of a 6-of-1, half-dozen of the other type deal. Bagwell was more of an iron man, Thomas played longer (probably longer than he should've by a couple years).
Plus Frank Thomas's nickname was awesome(Big Hurt).
Love me some Bagwell. He grew up like 20 minutes away from me
Killer Bs need to be in the Hall, Bags and Biggs!
Biggs for sure wasn't doping.
How is gambling worse than the record smashing video game numbers the PED era produced? You can't put old school cheating with new school PED cheating either. Shits not even close.
Players in the old days did a lot of coke.
