    swordplay's bonuses are pretty immense. at 250ish gswd skill i was fighting a mamool ninja in mamook and went from missing most attacks to hitting almost everything (check changed to low evasion, if that is indicative).

    was also skilling up parry/evasion on chigoes and swordplay would eventually see them whiffing most of the way after a while. its a very noticeable gain, to be sure.

    eyeballing, but you get what i mean

    There is an EVA/DEF buff on EM and lower targets with Sigil, it works the same as Signet in that regard.

    Hello everyone, I'm new to posting on here but I have been following this particual forum.

    I'm hoping that once RUN gets access to job specific merits that we will be allowed to merit Embolden down to 4-5 minutes. As for Foil, the duration needs to be increased to at least 3 minutes like Phalanx. At least then I could see some potential for Embolden + Foil for some NMs. Also a merit category that could reduce Lunge recast to 1:30 would be fantastic. I'm kind of dissapointed that SE didn't release AF/Relic/Emp armor when they released RUN, seems kind of suck that when AF does comes out most of us won't have use for it (unless it has some macro pieces worth useing). Any guesses as to when Merits/AF will be added?

    Well I can pretty much garuntee we wont get merits that cut ja recast by half or more... probably 6 months or till we see more atuff though

    Yeah, I suppose your right, at best we may have a T1 category that can reduce the cooldown of Embolden by 3 Minutes (at max) and the cooldown of Lunge by 30 seconds. I could see a T2 category for en-damage and/or a MAB boost on Lunge.

    5 merits into reducing cooldown always decreases the cooldown by 1/6. Embolden would become an 8 minute 20 second JA, and Lunge would become a 2 minute 30 second JA.

    I was thinking back to Diabolic Eye when the merit ranks after unlocking reduced the cooldown to a maximum of 5 minutes. Guess it was just wishful thinking really lol. I believe SE needs to revisit Embolden and the utility of it with such a long cooldown currently. I have done quite a bit of soloing on RUN lately and not once have I been in a situation where I thought to myself "Man I wish Embolden wasn't on cooldown!". I believe it has been said already in this forum, but it just seems to be underwhelming.

    I'd love merits that allowed holding of more runes. Even if it took all 5 to get 1 lol. Liement really needs it's recast dramatically lowered too

    Thats actually a really good idea, that would be amazing. I would be willing to spend like 30-50 merits for just one myself lol.

    If SE gives RUN the capacity to hold 4 runes, I would bet money it would be on their promised Mythic.

    I would like a ja similar to No foot rise for runes. Would make Gambit/Lunge even better.

    Yeah, I hate to admit it but you are right. Any additional runes would definately be on mythic...not through merits *bubble popped*

    Yeah, an additional harbored rune definitely would be on something rare like a mythic weapon, especially considering how powerful Lunge would become. Given how RUN's JAs are organized into categories, its more likely we'll see Group One merits that modify those categories entirely, with one or two options for effecting standalone JAs. Some examples:

    Ward Recast/Duration
    Effusion Recast/Accuracy/Potency
    Rune Potency (Enspell damage and increased elemental resist)
    Swordplay Recast
    Embolden Recast

    Since Group Two merits are always new JA, JT or JT that add additional effects to unmerited JA, I'd imagine we'd get one more Ward, one more Effusion, and a couple of JTs that effect Swordplay or a Perfect Parry-like ability.

    You guys are really underestimating the importance of a fourth rune, or being very very optimistic.

    Just by the information we have now, a 4th rune would allow: Lunges of around 3800 damage, Gambits that give -40% magic defense, Valllatios/Valiances that reduce 60% of the magic damage, and possibly almost total immunity to statuses of the chosen elements with Pflug. Plus, 128 resistance to the corresponding element, too.

    That's Mythic material, not merit/relic equipment material. Although, of course, I'd LOVE to be wrong on this one.

    Not that it's impossible, but for as many times as it's been regurgitated, I still have yet to hear an explanation for it. SCH, COR, BST, DNC.. where is the precedent for thinking this?

    I could see something like this in T2 Merits like: "The next Rune Enchantment you use grants 3 Runes instead of 1."

    I have a feeling that the merit categories will be close to:

    T1:

    Rune Enchantment cooldown
    Rune Enchantment Potency
    Liement Cooldown (Or perhaps a decrease to all Ward cooldowns)
    One for All cooldown
    Embolden Cooldown
    Lunge Cooldown and/or Gambit Cooldown (Perhaps Both)

    Honestly T2 is anyone's guess. Probably 2 more JAs, most likely additional Effusions since we only have 2, not sure about the rest.

    How are you getting 3800 damage Lunges?

    I'm getting a rough estimate of ~450 * (0.5 + (0.25*4)*4, which is ~2700.

    RUN doesn't get much MAB gear, so maybe make that 3000-3200.

    For me it's because I leveled PUP, to make the absolute most of your auto you need Mythic for the "Supresses Overload" or at least that is what popped into my mind.

    Because 4 runes is a logical enhancement to Rune Enchantment, but is too powerful for merits or AF gear. In addition, according to the lore given in the recent Rune Fencer article, the number of runes you can put on a weapon is tied to the runic quality of the weapon.

    RUN is actually on quite a bit of MAB gear, some I have, some I can't afford. Also my gswd skill is not capped yet, so I'm really only seeing like 1500~ with the MAB gear I do have. Has any testing been done to see if INT can improve Lunge damage?
