But,
It doesn't matter in what order you multiply 440, 1.25, 1.48 and 3, or how many brackets you use, it's always 2442.
This:
I can't read as anything other than 2*3=6 But 3*2=5.
Again, unless I've missed something.
I think he was just saying that it came out even and didn't need to floor. Possibly to prove it wasn't it wasn't a random decision not to floor. Normally we floor each stage of any dmg. In fact I can't think of a calculation in the game off the top of my head that doesn't floor after steps. But then the numbers don't work out for this if we also use the normal order that these multipliers multiply in so who knows.
If you floor these between the brackets you get the answer shown. (440*1.48)*(1.25*3)= (651.2)*(3.75). 651*3.75= 2441.25
But that's really weird and odd... then again we haven't had a multi hit magic move before I think so maybe it does calculate and floor each hit first individually or something?
Ah, gotcha now. 651.2*3.75 vs 651*3.75. Cheers
I think my Rune Fencer merit wishlist consists of stuff like a Riposte trait that gives like a percentage chance per merit to counter when you parry, some JA Haste on Sword Play, meriting down recasts because they are ALL way too long (Embolden should be like a minute, Liement 2 mins, One For All 5 mins), a way to extend Pflug to party members and a not-crap version of Stormsurge for runes.
Also, give the damn job Temper.
My rune fencer one merit wish list is Reflect now that would rock...
if they added reflect to the game I bet it'd roll a dice to hit either the monster or one of your party members
I hope this hasn't already been discussed and I've missed it but, has anyone planned on/been working on a DPS spreadsheet for RUN. It would be great to compare GSs, check out thaumas and the new thurandaut gear for it. ^.^
Is there a reason why nobody wants to attempt to see if the ice magian gs would be a viable option for mobs who are resistant to physical damage but susceptiple(sp) to magical damage? Honest curious question.
I don't think runes enspell damage is affected from mab, is it?
I'm pretty sure it is.
It isn't or at least not positively. Was doing 15-21 without any mab and 1 rune and shika same amount though so far lower average with +130 mab... for fun I tried with MDB but yeah didn't help either.
Tried testing att speed so offhanded a koggles with just dw1 and no gear dw or haste. Got 7-9 dmg. Switched to dw3 with suppa and full gear haste and spell. No change in dmg either. Seems to just be effected by base delays of weapons and mainhand weapon dmg
It appears to be approximately (mainhand weapon dmg*60)/total delay. At least for 1 rune. Gotta figure out why it ranges a bit. Like that 15-21 was with something that comes out to 15.91 dps so but got 15-21 but 8.06 got me 7-9
Ah, I was mistaken, then. I could swear (and be wrong, given your test) that I had more enspell damage when I was /RDM.
Maybe you changed weapons? idk it's a shame we don't get any OAX offhand weapons. I mean 3 runes seems to be about twice the dmg of 1. 2 seems to be about 1.5 more dmg then 1 rune. So using the new skirmish axe with kclub offhand you'd be getting a good 20+ dmg a hit!!! ok nvm lol
So tried it with gambit and yep increases dmg bubble curtian lowered.... given mab doesn't work I'd guess mdb doesn't effect it which if we can figure out how to get the dmg constant might be a good mdt/sdt testing tool.
No reason other than it's a lot of effort to get a weapon that gives an unnecessary stat and one questionable stat. I just can't imagine it's worth it.
Also, it's easy to check if it works or not, just go into Abyssea with just cru buffs, hit a mob a few times, then get Ultimate and Beyond atmas and see if you en-proc for more. I'll try it later tonight if nobody beats me to it.
