Sounds legit. Stick to your guns bro.I refuse to buy new weapons that beat my r/e/m for a job that doesn't use and didn't exist for r/e/m, so instead I'm going to buy weaker new weapons.
If you considered it a main job, I would have recommended a Senbaak.
Delve weapons are easier and faster to obtain than Magian weapons, and a much bigger boost against pretty much all other options. I can't see the point of not owning one for any job I bothered to gear.
So I messed with Battuta last night, I'm impressed! Decided to go and lvl my parrying fully by going to Abyssea Misareaux and fighting mandies. By keeping Battuta up whenever I could and having the mandies at DC level I got my parrying from 378-410 in about 30mins. It was fun to watch the mass counter effects from Battuta :D, I highly recommend taking this to lvl 5. When it procced the mandies were taking 78 damage (unresisted using Tenebrae Rune Enchantment)
It's a very nice ja, but it really sucks that it only lasts 90 seconds.
Yes, agreedWould be nice if it was a 3min recast, I can't see that being terribly OP.
If you go 5/5 you'll cap fast cast with the 5% neck with this set (which is actually 3% over cap) http://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/306011
And since fast cast will help recast where magoraga beads won't, you'd be better off in a fast cast neck.
Is the Rune Enhancement merit even worthwhile anymore now that they're nerfing the recast reduction? I can't imagine it would be.
Nothing in group 1 is worth meriting but I think the general consensus is that vallation/valliance 5/5 and pflug 5/5 is the way to go, for what little good it does. I'll probably fix group 1 later when I over cap merits but right now I don't give a crap.
5/5 vallation/valiance, 5/5 pflug... what about G2 merits?
Batutta 5/5, and either inspiration 5/5 or inspiration 4/5 and rayke 1/5, depending on rayke's potency.
I'd say Rayke could be very useful for group play...if run was invited to group play that is. I'll still put 1 in it just in case.
So, with Artifact Armor coming next month, how long do you think it will it take to implement the supposed mythic weapons for Rune Fencer and Geomancer? At this point the mythic is all I can see being able to help Rune Fencer with its intended role and mitigation of physical damage through augmentation of parrying or Inquartata. I understand that SE wants Paladin to remain on top of physical mitigation, an idea which is logical, but as it stands now Rune Fencers have no way to reduce physical damage and act as a pseudo tank except with what other jobs get through equipment (-PDT). I'd say that Battuta is a step in the right direction, but its incredibly short duration makes the ability very mediocre. A mythic greatsword that could possibly provide partial parrying abilities closer toward, but not as powerful as, Ochain would actually make this job have a better place in current endgame events. The new Naakuals use mostly magic damage, so maybe they will have a place in the newer delve battlefields for reductions in damage to moves like Static Prison from the Hurkan delve NM?
Depends whether the "mythic" is actually one of the AU line or an equivalent of a new line of weapons they're gonna release. If it's the former it can be expected soon, the latter probably not.
Are we still expecting a RUN mythic from AU after the recent wpn update ?
as long as aegis exists and RUN has no equivalent thing that provides the same effect like aegis but just in the physical department I really doubt it will ever see the light as a tank. Sadly. There is only 2 ways to go:
nerf aegis, or buff the hell out of RUN PDT modes (and add a mythic that provides the same).
well the 3. option would be to add mobs that totally ignore any trait/equipment/buff that offers MDT and their magic dmg can only be reduced via resistant points or so.
With the proper support, rune fencers still reach a magic reduction percentage semi close to Ageis' reduction, and are able to extend their protection to their party. The mythic could also have straight damage taken -??% That could break the cap like the paladin weapons (Burtgang, Aegis) do. I don't think they could ever effectively nerf aegis without the community as a whole being in an uproar about it, I can only see the solution being buffing rune fencer's upcoming ultimate weapon, or their job abilities in general.
The way it is now though, rune fencer needs some sort of physical mitigation to proceed as its intended role, and really should be given a way (through the mythic perhaps) to exceed or at least match aegis' protection.
Depends on what you mean by semi close. Capped mdt on both with full 3 rune vallation/vallaince run is still taking over twice as much dmg as aegis. While the precentages look the similar the percentage difference between them is huge.
Edit: well merits probably change that a little I don't remember seeing much testing on that yet though. Then it might only be 2 times better lol
