What non-elemental stuff can mobs hit players with? Monster meteor is dark.
EDIT: In fact what non-elemental damage is even resistible at all? Player meteor can't be resisted. Requiescat, formless strikes, twilight scythe, pulse gkt are subject to physical avoidance not magical. The only thing I can think of is maybe spirits within, but I don't think I've ever seen that resist personally, only be reduced by breath DT-%.
Yes, non-elemental damage cannot be resisted. Monster Meteor is Dark element, which is why it can be resisted. So +Resist and +Magic Evasion are adding to the same stat though we can't swear that +1 of each is equivalent.
Chi Blast? I remember when SE started adding a wide range of monsters on which ChiBlast produced very shitty damage results.
Chi Blast should be magical, non elemental damage delivered through a ranged non-physical, non avoidable attack (unlike Formless Strikes).
Altough I dunno if we can talk about "resist" procs, it was kinda something else making so ChiBlast was consistentently (always?) producing reduced damage output. It wasn't like getting an Occasional/Frequent "resist proc" as you would get with Magic.
Back in the days in some forums (Allakazham? KillingIfrit?) I saw someone calling "Chi Blast" and "Spirits Within" type of damage as "spiritual damage" (lol), and that certain mobs added late during the lv75 era resisted specifically that type of damage.
Doesn't really make much sense today though.
Once people have a wide array of +magicevasion set (can also try stacking Fenrir's Aura, it gives Magic Eva if I recall) you could go Ballista and see if Meteor Damage can be resisted or not with all that magic eva.

exists on AF body when magic evasion would be doing the same thing. must be a difference somewhere. or SE's just stupid. could go either way.

Am I wrong in thinking this is yet another nice party utility tool that RUN has?
I immediately thought about putting RUN in a pt with stunners, but since you can't keep Valiance up 100% of the times of course it wouldn't work. But still, I'm sure it might prove useful in the future, for some fights.

I did KB as RUN, normal meteors with Shell V up did around 500 damage, with Valiance and 3 Lux runes (remember, to resist dark, you have to use light runes) damage never went above 80.
Magic Evasion probably has a floor and a cap but maybe ele resistance doesn't?
Supposedly players get +3-5 resistances to all elements every time you level up but unless you put on gear with +resist on it, the base is shown to be 0. In actuality you gain resistances to all elements at about C- rank which is why at 99, a level 6 Orc's Fire will probably be a 1/8th resist.
Well the little testing done on it iirc showed 1 resistance was equivalent to 1 meva for that element and that yeah you basically gain meva each lvl. The testing is long and exhaustive so not sure if there was any caps on the stats themselves but most likely functions similar to acc/eva and that the stats themselves don't cap but there are hitrate caps/floors
If monster meteor was dark Liement+Lux would definitely make you absorb it.
That's the definitive test I wanted to perform, but KB had the tendency of having its casting either interrupted or paralyzed every time I tried it.
Anyone got a good working RUN spellcast?
Doesn't help that liement will probably wear off before Meteor goes off unless you have awesome timing skills too.
