Has it ever been considered that it's just a certain amount of hours since flagging the mission which just happened to coincide with using 50 imprimaturs? I personally did the 50 imprimatur method, but it's been this long, and no one has come to an agreement on what the conditions actually are.

edit: Scratch that. I went through my logs, and really does seem that the imprimaturs were the main factor.

I'm wondering if in addition to quests being completed, you can't have a quest active. Maybe they are trying to justify NPC placement etc.

I'll repeat then, AGAIN, because apparently some people can't read:

- Completed and informed of a pair of assignments.
- Checked Brenton to see if I got CS, and got nothing.
- DID NOT turn in, complete, or even ask for any other assignment.
- Went to Inventors, on the same zone, and finished the last CS of the Vegetable Vegetable Revolution quest.
- Again, without zoning, checked Brenton.
- Got mission CS.

Now, explain that.

dunno how many tags he's done, i can go through logs if anyone is interested, but i'm guessing ~50 sounds about right.

Do you mind checking? It could be helpful to verify. Also could you find out how many different kinds of assignments you completed?

Has anyone considered that the unlock might happen at a certain time (every game day, every JP midnight, whatever)? Perhaps every so often, some internal cycle runs where it increments tags and checks players to see if 50 have been used, if so flag for advancement? (Note: this would be a stupid way to implement it, but that doesn't usually seem to stop SE.)

I completed a quest on Earthsday ~1:00, checked Brenton, no CS. Then I did It Sets My Heart Aflutter. Went back to Brenton same Earthsday ~13:00, CS.

Quest #: Requirement seems implausible due to Gren's mule.
Quest requirement: Cats + Dust if any

My CS only unlocked after I completed Flutter. Someone else didn't complete Flutter. It's not a specific quest requirement.

Well I ranked up today, so that means 60 OPs. Means I got Dinner invite at 55 OPs. Unless ranking up is at 55 instead of 60. So maybe the less fame you have, the more OP you need to do? I'm only rank 2 fame 18/42 quests.

It's not random, all 3 of my char unlock at the same time as me. Each done the same exact quests, same exact # of missions completed etc.

Do you know which assignments you completed? Distinct # of assignments could be important.

Has anyone actually confirmed that we haven't just been dealing with a sizable number of people being unable to count?

And I'll repeat again:
-Counted 51 imprimaturs used very carefully.
-No CS.
-Did not do any more assignments.
-Did Erisa quest, no CS.
-Did Flutter quest, CS.
-That put my totals at: 51 imps, 28 quests, 2 distinct assignments.

If anything it's the people who reported "about 50 seems right" who we need more information from. We need specific numbers of imps used, quests completed, and distinct # of assignments completed.

For example, maybe it's 50 imps used and the sum of: imps + quests + distinct assignments > 80. I've yet to see anyone with concrete information disputing this.

I'm pretty sure it has to be something fame related. VVR is obviously not a requisite, given the testimonies, but just 50 imprimaturs isn't either. I was, from a long time ago, at 3 fame already, but only had completed 20-something quests (can't be more specific, sorry). Maybe that last VVR put me above the fame threshold necessary, I don't know.

Done all quests aside from Veg Revolution, Exotic Delicacies, and Boiling Over.

Had 47 tags worth of coalitions done. Checked Brenton. No CS. Picked up a 3-tag coalition, no CS. Did said coalition to bump total to 50 tags used, got CS from Brenton without having to zone.

im beginning to think the issue a lot of people are getting is that they count 50 tags received, but not necessarily 50 tags turned in to a task guy

I have a friend that got his cs an hour before me and he has hardly done any quests to build fame, he had the 50 tags used though. We then went reiving for an hour and used up another 6 tags and then I was able to get cs. I have rank 4 fame and something around 6 or 7 quests left to do before having done them all. I did however use at least one coalition tag at all six coalitions, and mining, watercrafting, and logging key items, as does my friend. Not sure what triggers it but I don't think fame has as large a role in it as we were thinking.

There isn't any evidence to suggest Adoulin has any. She only states that they've disappeared from the Middle Lands. Remember that this was only a few decades after Erpalacion "disappeared" from San d'Oria, so the concern is quite understandable.

There has been suggestions one of the Naakuls will be a light based dragon wyrm whatever the hell. So maybe.

As long as I'm posting I'll just say I thought the opening cutscene of the missions was weak and kind of stupid, but I'm interested to see what happens. It would be rad if some Princess Mononoke shit went down and nature in Adoulin got brutal. Some kind of "puppeteer" is behind the Naakuls and shit according to the missions and various NPC flavor texts.

to be fair, the openings have never been particularly strong since ToA. they're usually meant to give you a flavor of things to come... whereas in CoP it was required to access the new areas.

i'm still gonna go with the natural family naakuals, so Plantoid, Beast and Bird is left, according to the amano pic. i'm rather happy with SoA for not being too heavy on the unnatural monster families.. that being dragons, demons, arcana and undead, of which there are absolutely none as it stands apart from Umbril which I don't think we've properly identified yet.

Achtelle's point of view in the Crystal was is from 20 years ago, so its possible in those 20 years that dragoons fell out of favor in the west as well

I think Umbrils may deserve their own family. Aren't they basically trapped souls coming up from the Underworld? If you look at them, their body is half underground, and when they die they descend back into the ground with just their hand sticking up over the ground in a very Terminator-esque fashion. Underworld is clearly a theme in SoA and I'm guessing will play a major part in the future of the storyline. I guess they're sorta undead, but they don't aggro HP/sound, and they do aggro sight/magic which is uncharacteristic of any monster family except Bombs. But then, they only come out at night in field areas (like undead). They seem to fit somewhere between Arcana and Undead. The name "Umbril" implies shadow, but I'm not sure what the reference would be there aside from how they come out at night.
