Even if there was anything possibly remotely good with WotG it got completely killed by

1) Watering down of the content
2) Release time (sooooo long!)
3) The fact city quests and main missions were written by different people (can clearly feel it, sigh)
4) Highly subjective point, but despite the potential of the story, it's full of plotholes and strained, contrived cliffhangers/plot-twists.

How is it that 9 times over 10 when an author uses timewarps in his story ends fucking it up? I don't get it.
It means being superficial, or hoping your readers will be superficial and won't ask themselves too many questions. It could be so easy to use time-related instruments, as a writer, to create interesting and fascinating things without fucking up everything.
Why do most people have to fail so badly at it?!
Don't think WotG is even the worst at that tbh, while clearly it suffers from this issue as well.

Seriously, non-linear plotlines that effectively lock you in a circle are inherently disappointing. Stuff like having the little Lycopodiums being friendly to you and buffing you after you helped out? That stuff's gold, and there wasn't nearly enough of that- having parts of the way the world work change after you "fixed" them. And so, after the entire WoTG storyline, we can watch the dead zones being conquered and beastman-raped as if we'd never been there. Yay. I R teh zero-hero.

That WoTG apparently got slowed by S-E splitting efforts between two MMOs at once was a capper. I get the feeling WoTG was laid out before FFXIV was greenlit and sucked away production resources, meaning the bigger-is-better turned into "too much to do and too little to do it with".

Reached "Beauty and the Beast".
Tried to figure out where to go but no success atm... zoned out from Western to Ceizak Battlegrounds without success.

What did you guys do for An Extraordinary Gentleman? Assumed the Library, but I didn't get anything from any NPCs or any of the entries in the books. Tried all of the Scouts NPCs and notta, and nothing from the castle or any NPC around it.

For that quest you have to pretend to be stupid and ask Levin at Pioneers where to find books <.<

As for Beauty and the Beast...we're lost. Checked all Ceizak and Yahse..I think

Beauty and the Beast: Check "Signs of a Struggle" target at intersection of I/J-7/8 in Ceizak.

Mission "Stonewalled" is a 3-man minimum fight. Entrance is "Hollowed Pathway" at G-11 in Kamihr Drifts. Don't know what's involved since I'm here by myself.

Got to Stonewalled as well. I haven't seen anyone else run by the entrance, except like 1 or 2 JP players who are JP only.

Stupid question, where do I go to finish the mission Soul Syphon? I know somewhere in the snow, but where? (I mean Kahmir Drifts) I got the ki from the tiger but don't know where to go from there.

Essentially solo'd on Red Mage due to DNC dying immediately and 3rd being gearless.

Wasn't too hard, but could have been hairy if it had lasted longer (adds continue to spawn indefinitely; there were like 7 or 8 on me by the time the boss died).

Soul Siphon is the cutscene right before the BC. G-11 Kamihr Drifts.

Fight was really easy finally got a group for it after about 4 hours of waiting by the entrance. Just fight the rock guy from the previous cutscene, some demon adds spawn but they are really weak can kill the rock guy and ignore them and be done with it, adds die when main boss does.

i must say im satisfied by the current extension of the adoulin story. it definitely feels like we're making progress in the story, for once.
still, a lot more questions than answers.
