I don't even know what that is lol. I'm guessing it's marked up in-game maps? I don't mind although like I said they weren't really made with in-game use in mind, so there would be like huge blobs of icons on areas when you zoom in etc. But still less annoying than getting lost I guess. You would have to chop off the symbols key on the right I would think at least.

    Have a look HERE.
Basically it's a pack of dats that overwrite normal game dats.
Result? You're gonna have custom maps in-game, with all annotations and whatnot.

Can we actually give you feedback on the maps you realized? Or would that be out of place and considered lack of gratitude, given the IMMENSE amount of work you released out of the blue making all of us overly happy about it? :D

Sure go ahead. I don't really care as long as someone asks first, and there is a small note indicating I made them in the lower right. I've never used annoted maps in-game I always just refer to them in a browser or something. Although I do use Mappy sometimes which uses annoted maps and it grosses me out to see those old areas with like big purple blobs shaded to show where elementals spawn.

I remember before SE fixed it that some people used an exploit where they would store the imps at the coalition and when they pulled them out, they would have more tags. Not bringing this up to do that but rather, if you were to use the same trick and store all your imps before the update, could you then use them all the day of and get capped ranks on the first day?

Theoretically it's possibly and no reason it shouldn't work unless SE engineers something specifically so it wouldn't... that's what I'm doing now. Plus be nice to see if it will actually allow me to lvl up some ergon loci after the update

They said nothing about increasing the maximum personal ranks for coalition assignments. The only thing they discussed was raising the coalitions' caps on edification ranks. It's possible the two go hand-in-hand, but I don't know. One would assume ranks would increase further, unlocking assignments dealing with the new areas, but I don't think that was stated explicitly unless I missed it.

I think it's highly likely the coalition edification does accompany new assignments ranks. It would also fit with the way the update progress seems like it will unfold:
Initial ranks 1-4, > next update part 1 rank 5 with 2 new outdoor areas > next update part 2 ranks 6 and 7, > final update at least in terms of the basic predictable stuff goes- new outdoor area/beast naakual and rank 8.

Unless they go back and add biv/frontier station assignments to previous ranks for the new zones, it seems likely it will go up with the edification. What was the cap for both types of ranks in the data mine?

Looks like SoA website was updated, some notable things:

    - New zones are Dho Gates, Marjami Ravine and Yorica Weald.
    - Yorica Weald is situated above Cirdas Caverns according to its description, which means that the most likely way to get there is through the zone in the dead center area of Cirdas that's currently inaccessible. It will require both Watercrafting and I think the new vine climbing skill to access. Yorica Weald houses the earth Naakual, Yumcax. Yorica Weald is also notable as the third [U] area that will be included.
    - The description of Dho Gates says that it connects Cirdas, Hennetiel and Marjami and Marjami houses the thunder bird Naakual, Hurkan. I'm guessing that when the sixth Naakual is released, there will be a fourth Gates zone extending from the northwest of Cirdas to connect the last area (Piedmont?).

The equipment page was also updated and shows new weapons. Two of them look like they come from Hurkan due to its plumage being on the weapons, a scythe and a one-hand axe. A new club as well as an amood-type great axe looks like they come from Yumcax.

The adversaries page hasn't been updated, but Spira already picked up some of the new mobs models in a recent test server update:

some weapons won't get a Naakual version it seems. Still need a katana, great sword, staff, gun, and bow and we only have one more Naakual left, if no repeat weapons were to exist, they could have covered all of the melee weapons and one ranged weapon; no gun and bow would suck but would have been at least a reasonable sacrifice. A second one handed axe is puzzling and mildly infuriating.

Isn't there supposed to be a 7th naakual?

really don't see that one being handled the same as the 6 "normal" naakuals that we have names and official confirmation for tbh. if it's fightable at all, I expect it to be a special event, not a normal wildkeeper+delve NM

edit: actually nevermind, SoA site says "Seven" so I guess that the seventh will be a regular one after all

Gwynplaine your maps have been converted into .dats for the datswap pac "FFXI Vision".
    http://forums.windower.net/topic/182...ost__p__220825

Many thanks for your work, you have been given full credit afaik.
Hope you're gonna keep up the good work and updated the current maps with the new exits once new zones are released on july the 9th, and possibly with time release maps for the 2 new zones as well
I don't want to sound too demanding, I'm just saying that me (and many other people) would really apreciate if you could find the time to do it.

Unlikely to get gun. There's an xbow already so there is ONE ranged weapon.

And before people go all lolXbow, I'd remind you that xbow has always had better DPS throughout the game compared to a Gun. The only reason guns are more popular at the moment is because of Coronach - one jof the only two reasons you bring Rng (the other being Namas).

But gun is cor only weapon.

If anything bow might be skipped cause rng already got xbow.

    There should be 8 Naakuals.

They mention 7(one for each element+light)

They're releasing 2 more this update for a total of 5. The 6th will most likely be that Ice Yeti(Beast-Type), probably a badder, bigger, Umigurhk type thang. The 7th is probably that light based Wyrm. There PROBABLY will be an 8th Naakual for completionists sake but it will be the final mission boss or something and will be Dark based(Demon/Umbril type?). You can't just have 7 Naakuals, covering all elements except Dark and think that will fly.

Also SE said there will be a Craftable AND R/EX Delve Megaboss weapon for each type. So far we have:

    Polearm: R/EX
    Sword: R/EX
    Dagger:R/EX
    Axe:R/EX
    Great Katana: R/EX
    H2H: R/EX
    Ranged: R/EX
    Scythe: Craft
    Staff: Craft
    Club: Craft
    Great Axe: Craft
    Great Sword: Craft
    Katana: Craft
    Shield: Craft

All the weapon types that have R/EX drops from Delve bosses will see craftable weapons from the new Delve Bosses; likewise the new Delve Bosses will probably drop R/EX GA/GS/Club/Staff/Katana/Shield/Scythe.

They said R/EX weapons will be Item Level:120 and craftables will be 119. So people like me who can't get into a LS or group to kill bee to get Upukirex will probably have to settle for the craftable polearm whenever that gets released.
