A guy some pages ago (maybe in another thread but here on BG still) reported doing stuff on himself and his mule and that it took him exactely 20 "turn ins" and not "20 imprimaturs" to levelup.
He tested this on purpose on himself and mule using 3 imprimaturs on main and 1 on mule, and it still took him 20 turns in.

Never heard anybody else talking about it since then, so I was wondering if what he said was crap or confirmed.

Don't remember that but I think it's bullshit. I definitely ranked a lot sooner than after '20 turn ins' and I usually use 3 imprimaturs.

I did Inventor's Coalition only at 3 tags each go, and got Probationer after 3 bloodthread x5, 5 chapuli x1 and 5 twitwings x1. so thats 7 turn ins, which is much less than 20

Maybe it's a bit like assaut, when a new assignement rewards you with more point than one you already completed?
Since basicly, everytime you rank up, you get 2 new assignements, and you obv do those 2 new assignements.
Let's say a new assignement gives you 3 points, and a completed one 1 point. By using 20 tags, you'd get (3*2 + 1*18), which is about '24 points". Could be the reason why someone said he had to use 25 tags to rank up, if he does 25 times the same assignement.
I should rank up in pionner today (rank5), I"ll let you know, there's one assignement i haven't done (clear the way in cirdas), so I'll figure.

Based on the post in this thread (I think) that someone had ranked up after 20 imprimatur used, I followed this path:

1 imprimatur used in Inventors' Coalition on Gather: Rala Waterways
3 imprimatur x6 used in Inventors' Coalition on Gather: Rala Waterways
19 total imprimatur used > check rank > Inventor Petitioner.
3 imprimatur used in Inventors' Coalition on Gather: Rala Waterways
22 total imprimatur used > check rank > Inventor Probationer.

Seems that x3 counts the same as x1 for the purposes of ranking up within a specific coalition.

That was on my mule, I did the same thing on my main, but instead of trading in 3 at the end for 22, I traded in 1, for 20, and ranked up. Seems like 20 imprimatur for sure.

I also ranked up to Disciple using 3 at a time entirely

Yeah I dunno, I just know it took me 5 turnins from the time I got dinner invite cutscene, to rank up to contributor. I have been only doing the higher lvl ones though lately siince more reward.

It takes 20 Imprimaturs to rank up per rank, regardless of how you do it x1 or x3 per use, but in order to get mission access (Dinner Invitation) you need to do 50+ assignments total? Am I understanding this correctly?

This is why I think they should avoid content where the # of players matters. I find it much more satisfying when what you achieve has everything to do with how smart/hard/long your group works and nothing to do with what people in other groups are doing. Actually, I only care for the “smart” part. Anyone can work hard or long. There’s not much satisfaction in those either.

It would be nice if they had an NPC that would give us an idea of what bivaucs are in danger of falling, and how much supply they require...

That’s Neil Gaiman writing about Terry Pratchett in an appendix of a novel they co-authored. It's the most eloquent way I've seen someone describe that concept. It's an obvious question to ask about almost any fiction one creates. Unfortunately, it's a question that game designers often either answer poorly or don't even bother to ask. If there was really a place with people inhabiting fragile bivoacs, and if there really were adventurers who could prevent those bivoacs from falling apart, the people would tell the adventurers what they needed and when, or at least there’d be some reason why they didn’t.

Honestly I think they need to let us use waypoints to deliver supplies.

Maybe they’ll eventually let us warp, with supplies, to frontier stations but not to bivouacs.

Yes. Those 50 can even be spread out in such a way that you haven't ranked up in any coalition and you're still good.

anyone else feeling rushed to get bayld and the items/KI they want before the coalitions lose their rank and we lose access?

is there a better method to obtaining bayld then running with the crowd to the colony revies? i seem to only get 1k or so per revie that way, not counting imps. I see people with bayld to burn (100k KI to earn 0 or 20k depending).

I am struggling to get the bayld i need for 2 body pieces and one head before sunday, and I don't have hours to run around farming colony revies. I use imps as much as possible, maybe I am doing the wrong missions. I usually do couriers, pioneers and peacekeepers.

Any suggestions?

Warp to frontier but no waypoint sounds like a good compromise

If I'm not wrong, I remembered I read it in Dev Tracker thread that, Bivouac can be destroyed, but Frontier station will stay permanently?!
