Cirdas seems to be 25 from the Banespore. There is a lot of room, and I can often go the whole run without sneaking or invising.

Incredibly anecdotal but I just got a 51 bayld soul pyre in Sih Gates right now (which is part of Ceizak Battlegrounds); I'm too lazy to go check Scout's atm, but I'm going to guess that it has something to do with spoils or some such malarkey as I've never seen anything other than 50 before.
51 Bayld has happened forever. I've even seen 52 (!!) once or twice. Doesn't have anything to do with Ionis. Just some stupid randomness... maybe placeholder values they're using for potentially higher values in the future, idk. EXP/bayld rewards for turning in assignments are the same as always.
Has anyone found a pretty simply routine way to farm bayld solo? Is Ochain PLD pretty ideal?
Do you mean not using reives with other players? (so, truly solo?)
There's no way to farm bayld efficiently from a Colonization Reive solo. You need damage to the obstacle in order to get decent Bayld so the only job that can really "solo" a reive is BST, and it's terribly slow Bayld/hour.
Best way to do it is just bring a PLD, BLU or a DD and a WHM to a Colonization Reive where there are other players and do the normal reive rotation with them. The key is to let the noobs wail on the rocks/roots while you fight the mobs to cap your Bayld per evaluation. You can get 20-30k/hour. More than that if your server has people intelligent enough to do Morimar (mine doesn't). The one time I went there with a group I got over 40k in an hour.
Don't bother trying to do Lair Reives, they're terribly slow.
Once you've maxed Scout's Coalition you can do Imprimaturs very easily solo for pretty good Bayld, but you're obviously limited on tags.
*EDIT* Thinking about it a little more, PLD with Ochain can probably solo a reive with Aeolian Edge but there's no way you're going to get fast Bayld. I would imagine it would be REALLY slow.
What does maxing scouts do for you?
For whatever reason people love to spam Ceizak even though it only has 4 reives so lots of downtime. I mean Yahse has 5 and is as close as Ceizak along with the Imprim thingy working there.
I blame the Pioneers Op since it's only labelled Ceizak. I mean yeah the NPC says you can do it in Yahse too but that's expecting people to read past the point where they select the op!
This. Ceizak requires like 15 minutes of standing around once you're done with the rotation. It's annoying, but no one ever goes to Yahse or Morimar. :/
Just gives you access to the higher level Survey assignments. Survey: Morimar is 1500 per tag (3600 if you use all three tags) and takes about two minutes.
Actually, while I'm sure this isn't the reason people do Ceizak, assuming the area colonization rate does impact Naakuals, you'd want to do Ceizak over Yahse to weaken Colkhab. I think people just do Ceizak out of habit for whatever reason, but at least there's that benefit.
Survey is disciple. Probably more like 5 min including talking and travel. Contributor is analyze morimar which takes all of about 30 seconds but requires trading a 2k item and is a little smaller reward. But great way to lvl subjobs lol.
Also lately people been doing mori reives a lot lately if only to get thru them lol
If bayld cap is based on the damage done to the reive targets, how are you getting more bayld than anyone else (presuming theres no large group raping reive targets)? By all means, correct me if im wrong...but as long as youre catching an eval every min, youre maximizing your possible bayld with whos there, and theres no way to improve on that.
When there are a lot of people hitting the roots it becomes sort of hard to cap your points by attacking the roots because they take reduced damage.
Since he mentioned "go to where other players are doing reives and let the noobs wail on the roots" I'm going to assume he's talking about large groups.
Yeah depends on group size. Like on smallish ones my whm mules often caps just casting some barspells. Hell it gets more xp then my bst when only my pet is wailing on the target
I'm not even sure if I understand your question exactly but here is how it works, for anyone who doesn't understand it:
- Evaluations are done every X seconds (I'm actually not sure what the time between evaluations is?).
- When EXP > bayld, your bayld for that evaluation was capped.
- The cap of bayld for a given evaluation is based on how much damage has been dealt to the objective (obstacle) in that X seconds.
- The amount of EXP and bayld that a given player receives is based on his individual contribution in the time for that evaluation, nothing else.
- You cannot reach the cap for bayld just by attacking the objective when there is a large group of people on the objective. (See the example below.)
- The best way to assure that you're capping bayld per evaluation (especially as a tank or DD) is to fight the reive monsters, because you are able to deal much higher damage and also take damage at the same time.
(Disclaimer: I made all the following values up but this is how the system works in theory.)
Let's assume an objective has 100,000 HP and an evaluation is done every 60 seconds. Now let's assume the group as a whole deals 20,000 damage every 60 seconds and that sets the bayld cap for that evaluation at 1,000 bayld. Now an individual must have a certain amount of contribution to hit the 1,000 bayld cap, and since the group is so large with a ton of people attacking the objective, it has set the cap so high for every evaluation period that individual must do a LOT of damage (or take a lot of damage) in order to cap it.
That's a really long way to say: If there are a ton of people hitting the roots, don't fight the roots. If there's no one hitting the roots, you can pretty much AFK on them and the only thing you'll be missing is EXP. The problem with this system is that damage on the objective is required for people to get the reive completed and to advance the cap but it's not the most efficient way to farm bayld, so (especially in a large group) some people have to be willing to stand around and hit the roots and lose out on potential bayld in order to complete the reive. It's actually really annoying, and I'm not sure why they did it this way. Just doing it the way of a campaign battle would have been so much better.
If I get in a reive with a couple of holders but not anyone dealing roots damage, I will try to pull a regular mob to the roots and TP on the roots and then WS the regular mob. I find that a pretty effective way to make sure I'm capped while still participating in clearing the actual objective.
what's the max bayld you guys usually get from reives? i tend to hit 5k most of the time now but wondering if it's possible to go "much" higher.
Evals are every min, atleast when i was 3boxing it was every min.
I tested this before the last reive patch, so it may have changed...but as long as you catch an eval every min and xp>bayld, then youre doing all you can do really. It may have changed that patch, but it seems if you miss an eval then the bayld is lost
that is true, but you recieve more bayld/hour in morimar with alot of people (like say when the reive ends after 10 min- 15 min~), then going with only 3-4 persons and needing 40 min+ to get the reive done. The evaluation frequency on short reives is higher and if you can spam the shit out of AoE moves you will get 3-5k bayld per reive (depending how it fairs) but in much faster succession. you can rack in easy 20k-25k bayld per hour in morimar on the correct job if there is enough people and you make a round from bivac 2 to 5 ----> go back to bivac 2 repeat.
Small tip. In Morimar, the turtles take more damage from sanguine blade than other mobs. I was Ochaining shit up and spamming sanguine blade for 1284dmg and capping everything pretty quickly. You can't die that way either. So get a few people and just super tank some turtles and spam sanguine blade on them and you win forever.
