    /wave Cambion!

In fairness Arthars, from reading this it seems they are on their 4th or 5th run of Skirmish. How they are getting so many parts? They are doiung the same thing as you I would presume, considering you have 16 triggers, 16/3 = 5.33 runs for you also. Looks like were all just locked down to the dungeon's for these parts.

My LS does farming during the week and on Saturdays we do Skirmish. Last Saturday we have done three runs and so far we have another 2 runs for Saturday coming up. The farmers in our LS is about 4-5 people and some are having 0 parts in a 5hr farm daily and others are on 2-3 parts for a hour here and there. Suprisingly the person who is bringing the most in every week is someone that just constantly mines mainly in Cirdas got all 9 parts for last weeks 3 runs.

I still see no reason to care about what Tier the legs are, unless the T4&T5 bodies become a Time/difficulty issue, where having the bonuses(and/or map) is actually needed.
right now they are not worth the price, but I believe they have use for "obsidian fragments farming" (guarranteed stone +2 with 9800 fragements).

Tried farming the first week, it's not worth the time. In 6 hours of farming I can farm gil to buy 4 popsets. TIs are becoming increasingly cheap on the AH.

Because of this, I wouldn't be surprised to see T1 heads fall in price as others start to catch on to this trend.
Cirdas is already cheaper than Rala, because there's more desire for the GreatSword than any other weapon. (About 1M difference for the T1 on Asura)
It's the converse here. Cirdas still expensive (mainly because i buy them) and rala are at 1Mil (for T1). The good weapons in cirdas are H2H and daggers, that have amazing augments compared to the other, and that's 5 jobs total that want crdas: MNK PUP DNC THF BRD. From the look of it only the greatsword is amazing in rala? (RUN/PLD/DRK), cause its mainly mages weapons there. I can't sell my rala visage I i got randomly on day 1.

Edit: maybe SMNs will want an easy mod mythic too (pet MAB+40 staff with just stone +1).

    6 hrs farming can buy 4 x 3 parts?

Okay. Firstly your group can farm 3-4 parts in 1.5 hrs which is super!!!

now u can farm gil yourself in 6 hrs to buy 12 parts

    you are really awesome

4 pop sets in 6hrs farming? Either I dont know something that you obviously do, or your numbers aren't accurate.

Items are worth (obviously different on each server, but I will use Asura as an example.) between 2-3M. I will use the lower value to not over compensate. That would be 6M per set. You can farm 4 pops in 6hrs, that would also equal you can farm 24M in 6hrs, an average of 4M per hour.

Now randomly this could happen on a lucky day, but over the course of 6hrs gaining 4M each hour?

Well he is selling Marrows. He can probably get like 2-6 every 4h in dynamis so 20-90M in 4h depends of luck/price.

Afterglow Veret and Spharai is kinda best testimony he actually makes gils like that.

i wouldnt consider selling marrow as "i can"

when he says "I can" i assume he is soloing farming gils

but hes got the afterglow he can solo ADL man 2% always and all the time

Lol now you are being silly. Guy farmed like 4 000 000 000 gils on ADL and you still have problem to believe.
He has a lot COR mules ( on same account, he log in and log out to use wild card on SMN ) with dynamis access. He do like 3-6 ADLs per 2 runs ( idk exactly ) and even if he can kill 33% of them thats still a lot of gils.

    im not being silly

i have no doubt he can farm that amt of gil with his BFF

your math on his ADL frequency isnt far off, but you are not counting him farming with his BFFs, unless all his group's marrow/gils from selling are considered his own

dude got a history of over exaggerating, and i am just pointing it out

just read his exact words before calling me silly

you can start from the few pages back when he said he and his group can farm 2-3 parts in 1.5 hrs ALWAYS

having an afterglow doesnt mean everything he says are omfgtrue

if anything, we all know what it means to have an afterglow for now

Im backing Arthars here, but either way "I can" should imply him personally, I can solo a Skirmish with a group. Doesnt imply I can. Also in each post about him there is alot of -probablys- which doesnt really give an exact indication of anything.

This thread needs to be straightened and get back on to the topic of discussion.

My LS has a miner that is getting far more skirmish items than any of the farmers. While we farm, we send him out to mine mainly and he is getting more than us. Monday night we had two seperate groups farming Cirdas and Rala for 3hrs we got Leggings I while in the same time the miner got Rala I and Torso II.

Last week he got 3 sets farmed just by mining. Well 3 x Rala I, 1 x Cirdas I, 2 x Torso I, 1 x Torso II and 2 x Leggings I. Seems like mining is best way to get them so far from our point of view and personal observations.

he really got luck or he knows when to do it

i got my 2nd piece in moh gates in 2 consecative day now.... both time i was pretty sure im the only one cleaving/mining

when theres miner inside i can never seem to get 1 off mining since now im cleaving and just mining in between/during pulls when 1 pop near me, compared to full time miners........... (was +- 0/15xx from both IDs each 15 stacks of pickaxe/sickle/hatchet with full mining gear and mining blindly all day)

HELM parts prolly share the same pool from every other miner

the most afficient way to get squirmish parts atm is buying. Even if you farm your parts, you have 1/4 chance at getting the piece you need (cirdas/rala/torso/leg), assuming you actually get a drop.

And that would be mostly I and II parts. Its obvious now that the "good" parts are higher tiers levels of head and body. going visage I/torso I/leg I is only good to get the base weapon so far. after something like 7 runs i got zero +2 stones. on 6 char. 2 runs with Visage II got 1 stone+2 per char.

I see a lot of JPs shouting to buy tier III+ head and body peices here, for 20M+ gils. The JPs got it. They buy their pops and recruit members and ask for 2M gils participation fee lol.

finally a decent response from you XD

for now everyone is using I to III parts for experimenting and also to get base weapons, for free

eventually i agree, that most group/pickup will be buying high tier parts WHICH ARE RIDICULOUSLY RARE, and split the participation cost with "seasoned" players

even for tier I-III runs, people are already splitting entry cost on odin

farming parts is brutal, it is and i can vouch on that

buying is best and fastest no doubt but not everyone want to burn gils.......

I to IIs are "common" but not actually the case, and they r getting cheaper... but most people see it the othe way, like its getting more common so they shouldnt be spending gils on it.... theres always 2 sides to a story i guess

but for higher tier's rarity, it is almost impossible not to buy them. farming I to III is already pain in the ass, IV and Vs is not abt determination anymore

also, what server are you in again? tier I parts going for 1M is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too cheap!!!

i am VERY tempted to sell my parts tbh, easily 100m+ there....

Mdkuser is correct. Farming skirmish parts for 12hrs a day and potentially not getting a single piece if you get unlucky is not worth it. There are a number of ways of making better gil/hr if you have a half decent 2box mule.

If you are stuck playing this game completely alone with no mules and just an Ochain and a dagger to keep you company then yes its probably a good idea, but otherwise it isn't worth spending hours on end trying to get pieces. Speculative quick farming attempts in zones you have been monitoring is obviously a good idea though.

Its not a question of burning gil when you could've made more gil in the average amount of time it would take you to get a set through farming.

There is another factor here tho. In 12hr session of farming in new area even if you wont get any part for skyrmish wouldnt you farm a nice amout of gils anyway? I might be wrong tho.

you do but you will need the bag space.....

i prolly earned 3M and 17 triggers selling crystals and matamata shells/geodes/other junks but thats over 10 days......

i imagine you could earn more from twith flyes? but those takes reduced damage from aeolian.... i havent try sih gates chapulis/craklaw tho, which seem mega money to me

Roughly 3.3mil, which is most likely a gross overestimate. This was with 10 diremites the moment they pop and defeating them that very instant. Obviously, you'll realistically need to round them up and take breaks at some point. This assumed an average of 18%, which is slightly greater than the rate FFXIDB lists.

Our Kupo group farms what we can, but we're not very lucky, so we just buy what we need, and split it 6 ways.
    I think for a 3 T1 run, it's only 8.7M on Asura. 9.7 For Rala.
That's only 1.6M which is kinda chump change, and nothing compared to the gil spent on R/E/M weapons.

Higher Tier legs for more Obsidian is a bad strategy if you do the math.
Even moreso if you think 9800 for a +2 stone is a good idea, when you could buy 4 pieces for that.

I forsee in the near future that people won't care about Legs at all.
Bodies will be of Minor importance, and High Tier heads will be all that matter.
Over time, less people need weapons, and the focus will be on +2 stones.

But it all comes down to crunching the numbers, and doing what's best to get what your group needs most efficiently.

Had no luck lately sadly, only one in zone, cleaving mining away, getting green item only no peices. Switched mule from dnc to thief, got alot more green items in the pyres, but still no luck.

Seem to get alot more item pyres with a thief though.

It's easy to buy the items currently, just charge a buy-in, or work out a bank to fund it.

That “directional stuff mechanics” thread is dead. Those of you with, or trying to get, experience opening pyres, please check it out. This quote serves as a teaser and also as a sort of link, since I don’t think I can post URLs yet.
