I'm waiting for the R/E/M tweaks to be like "We've made it so aftermath carries over if you switch weapons." and the game becomes:
- Get 300 tp with your 2-handed weapons
- WS to activate Aftermath 3
- Switch weapons to the new Damage 53458, STR +5784, DEX +74834, Crit Hit Rate +138%
- Switch back to your R/E/M when Aftermath wears and build 300 tp again
Looks like the augments aren't static?
I think JP wiki has +1 Katana listed as both D+2 STR+6 DEX+1 and D+14. Neither matches up with Ejin's screenie.
holy crap at first augment.........the D..
Makes sense that you get the stones in your personal chest, then. It gives people an incentive to continue doing runs to get someone else weapons because they themselves can get another chance at augmenting their weapon.
Relics:
-Every weapon will need a D increase.
-Weaponskills need fTP scaling; i.e. start at 3.0 -> 3.5 at 200 -> 4 at 300 or something.
-WSC could use adjustment, but 60% is fine as well so long as fTP scaling is implemented adequately. Some weaponskills need their WSCs changed entirely; i.e. Geirsgokul and Scourge.
-Some need fTP adjusted as they need to be made into multihits; i.e. Metsu, Mercy Stroke.
-Aftermath duration needs a mythic-level revamp. 20s duration is too short. Should be 60s minimum, upwards of 3 minutes with 300TP.
-Some Aftermath effects need their potency adjusted or replaced; i.e. Geirsgokul's Shock Spikes, Excalibur's Regen.
-Additional effects need to be reworked. Attack, Defense, and Evasion Down potency need to be increased, while ones like Mandau's Poison need to be replaced completely if not revamped to deal a much larger amount of damage in a short period of time, like 100/tic poison for 3 tics.
Mythics:
-Every weapon will need a D increase.
-Enhance the weaponskill damage bonus to compensate for relics getting fTP scaling.
-Not much else to do to these, they're already good weapons for what they do. Additional bonuses to job abilities or something would be fitting if anything else were to be added.
Empyreans:
-Will need D increases as well as increases in the base stats that they enhance.
-Weaponskill damage bonuses; 10~20% for the Empyrean weaponskill.
-Additional benefits may need to be implemented, but likely unecessary. Empyrean aftermath and weaponskills are powerful enough to hold their own against these new weapons and other Legendaries provided appropriate adjustments take place.
Not entirely on topic, I know, but these are the changes I'd really like to see happen in terms of Legendary Weapon adjustments. They really need something big to remain at the top of the heap if this is the sort of baseline gear we're seeing out of Adoulin.
Turned in Rala Visage II, Faithful Torso I, and Faithful Legs I, gives you a temp key item in return: rala simulacrum. Went with mnk, war, war, cor, rdm, whm, it was pretty easy only it's a matter of finding the mobs and not getting lost. Goal was to kill 6 NMs scattered all around. Really it's just like a Nyzul Isle floor. Didn't complete 2nd goal to kill more NMs only killed 1 extra. Got the NIN katana dorp and we all got 195 obsidians.
After that everyone in the party is able to get the option to buy statue pieces at the old man. But it only offers purchasing the same type of the statue we used to enter with. (Although for some reason he only offers Rala Visage 1 when the one I used was Rala Visage II). Hopefully as people get better you might get more obsidians per run. If you got 195 each run you would need 10 or more runs to afford 1 statue piece.
Augment gave weapon +12 dmg, str+6, dex+3
Edit: For what it's worth yes buffs wear off upon entering the instance.
Edit2: No I was wrong buffs did not wear entering instance.

can you use /map in there? If the mobs are so far apart, might be worth bringing a rng?
In the dats one of the buffs the Noetic thing can give you is a map, but didn't offer that to us. You get no map otherwise, and yeah the place is pretty huge I brought a hermes to scout around. I'm going to look at the maps of Rala [U] and compare them to the instance and see if I can pin down which one it was.
does /map work though? or do you get "you cant use that in this area"?
Remember Nyzul "has" maps, they just dont work.
Screw you suggesting making Mercy Stroke multihit D: unless it keeps the 3.00ftp on the first one at least... I'd rather have a 3ftp one hit ws over a 1ftp 4hit ws (mirroring the animation) for Thf. Least of all cus I already have a 1ftp 4hit, 1ftp 5hit and 1.1875ftp 5hit.
you can get map inside by checking 1 of those red "rift"
but its temporary once u exit, it will be lost
You found a Fira II in the chest? So we can get some GEO spells from this event, nice.
Can anyone do a clear writeup of how to enter this event. Would be much appreciated.
I wouldn't call skirmish "baseline." The entry restricitions are steep, to say the least (the event itself sounds kinda dumb, but maybe the higher tier visages make it more difficult) and they've also mentioned continuing support of it across multiple updates which would lead me to believe it will be the main endgame activity in SoA for the foreseeable future. But yeah, if I was early in the process of making or considering starting RME, I'd have to second guess it at this point.
You get the 3 statue pieces, then you go trade them to Oston in Eastern Adoulin and tell him to put the pieces together which in return gives you a temp. key item. The key item lets you enter the instance and has to be the leader. Putting statue pieces together can be undone and taken apart again to give back to you if you want up until you enter the instance which consumes the temp key item. You have to go to the instance entrance in either Cirdas Caverns or Rala Waterways.
The specific goals, area, time given mobs and rewards etc. depend upon the statue pieces used. Once you enter it tells you what your goal is (like a random Nyzul floor goal). You go complete the goal, like killing all mobs, or we got kill 6 NMs. After you complete 1 goal you meet the criteria to get your rewards chests and the Key physically appears in everyones inventories which will end the instance/despawn the mobs and give you 5 minutes to lot your loot from your chests. But you can also keep going on to complete a secondary goal which will grant more rewards if completed.
Also I've pinpointed the Rala [U] map for the instance we got and plotted out a little bit of info I can identify from Frapsing. We spawned at F-8 on the lower map. The red spots are NMs, black spots are junk regular mobs. Also just remembered one of the Spider NMs cast Break lol didn't really matter since it died quickly. Some names of the NMs were Sewer Tarichuk, Woecroak Toad, Skulking Spider, and Forbsaken Obdella.
Edit: of course don't use this as a literal map since the instances are probably randomized like Nyzul. But this just gives you some idea.
the entry itself is more difficult than skirmish itself
not joking ;o
I'm still a bit confused as how I should feel by all of this.
I dunno how everybody feels about randomness here (I know typically japanese people love random stuff) but personally I hate complete randomness.
The original FoV augment system sucked balls and was a huge failure, imho.
The Sky/Abjuration augment system was a step forward and for some pieces it proved to be very useful, but it was still too random.
The Abdhaljs augment system maybe wasn't random enough, but I personally liked it.
Something like that with a very very very very small range of randomness could be a good compromise.
While it's still too early to draw conclusions I'm worried by all the possible randomness of this new system, and I'm worried by the repercussions it could have on the balancement of different FFXI events.
Take VW for instance, it's an old event already and of course its popularity is going down, but the fact it drops Pulse Weapons, Pulse gear and some other things which were still useful slowed down the rate at which VW was losing its popularity.
And this is good in the long run, because VW is still the only source for some items which are used to upgrade Trial weapons (HMPs, Rift stuff etc).
Furtherly killing the utility of these items will only drive people away from VW, making it even harder with time to obtain these items.
I dunno, but I see it as a legit concern in addition to all the mixed feelings we're all getting about these new weapons and the randomness (is it really that random?) of these augments.
