"live within your means", "stop buying frivolous things", "all the young people today just want handouts".
These fuckers. I could rent 3 apts easily for that salary and I live in Boston
Idk, lol. Keeping the salaries so low contributes to corruption, rich people being overrepresented, and the revolving door with consultancies. Doubling their salaries would also be a completely trivial expense and might be the single most efficient way to improve national security.
I think they should increase their compensation for sure, perhaps by just subsidizing DC housing. It makes sense as a work expense and probably gets them up to 200k compensation total.
I mean, can we get Katie Porter enough money for a new minivan, please? She spends her time in Congress trying to regulate companies whose starting salaries beat hers. Give the woman a raise.
You think giving them more money will keep them from wanting more money
Just build congressional dorms.

Curious how none of them mention any other form of income they might be drawing from....stop buying fucking avacado toast in downtown DC and save up for an apartment Jack.
Lol oh totally, if we give them more $$ there's no way they'll continue to manipulate stocks and do under the table deals for bags marked $$ or gold barsIdk, lol. You need to see the video in the link. The reactions alone when Jasmine responds are priceless. The already tense hearing was derailed when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., responded to a question from Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, by saying, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”
Raskin's face on that, wow.
Yeah you definitely have to watch the video.
Just needed to call her bitch at the end
