Of course the conclusion for the religious would still be God-centric but they understand the science behind it, moving from "God did it" to "God manipulated the winds and tides to recede the waters briefly".
I understand the need/desire to avoid the "anything other than receding tides is illogical and you are wrong", or any other blatant hostility... but I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that the majority of those cases aren't the actual scientists/researchers, but instead other random people using that results of that research for their own conclusions/attacks?

I'm not saying it's even the scientists though, as most of it IS the people who report or grab at material and slam it down other people's throats as "YOUR GOD IS FUCKING NOT THERE HAHA".

This is something alot of science nerds fail to come to terms with and simply look at humility as a trait of weakness. In the real world, shit officially gets done when someone is wearing a black eye and someone else is buying everyone drinks.

I agree it requires funding, and it's unfortunate that scientists need to come hat in hand to rich fucks begging for table scraps just so they can try and help humanity progress. However, we have very different views on what the real world is. In the world I live in and see every day, people avoid assholes like the plague right up until they need something from that asshole that only he can offer. At the end of the day, at the times when it really matters, people will choose the person that's right over the person that's nice.

That's frequently not the case. Many times you can find it easier to get funding if you're making waves and a lot of making waves in science can be being a dick. Look at the global warming denialists. The more spotlight they receive the easier it is to get funding because the companies fronting the bill are looking for a mouthpiece. Controversial articles also tend to result in a higher h-index for the author because of the increase in citations. Calling out someones bad work, or good work for that matter can frequently result in lots of citations even if the one the other end of the megaphone isn't making great points. It can still make it easier for the author to get additional funding for future work. I suspect that represents a minority of funding that's issued but I don't have any data to corroborate that. There is a unfortunate amount of industry money that makes its way into published papers, especially in medical fields.

america has one of the lowest rates of upward social/economic mobility in the world, just below the UK i believe. that combined with the staggering income inequality led to the quote "if you want to live the american dream, move to denmark"

So republicans say we can't raise the minimum wage because we'll lose jobs apparently. Heard it on the radio the minimum wage hike was voted down today, not surprising as they will look at the .01% economy growth and say that's the reason we can't raise the pay for the average worker...while the top 1% continue to make more and more.

I haven't done much research on him but isn't Jeb Bush considered the more rational of the prospective Republican candidates?

    Generally speaking, yes.

But then again he signed "Stand your Ground" laws in Florida and such. He's quite moderate on immigration, calling illegals crossing the border to work in America performing an "act of love" for their families.

Bennie Thompson, Democrat House Rep. from Mississippi, called Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas an "Uncle Tom" - then doubled down on the accusation when asked about it.

He's definitely the "Slick Willy" of the family. Dude has done so much heinous shit that the average Floridian either doesn't care about or never payed attention to while he was in office.

Yeah, this isn't exactly a stupid thing he said. The follow-up questions and answers indicate that he's not some retard like the "women's bodies have a way to shut that whole thing down" guy. It's a provocative phrase, and I personally feel that "it's ok if I say 'nigger' or 'Uncle Tom' because I'm black" isn't a good justification, but he's not way off base in its usage either.
