Yeah, I kind of wish we had the rest because it sounded like Wolf was trying to get him to still answer it.
Republicans, "Bringing back the 1950's that we all missed so much, mostly because most of us were actually alive then, and white."
And certain people knew better than to get all uppity about rights and equality.
The good ol' days.

Attorneys for Gov. Steve Beshear filed a brief last week with the U.S. Supreme arguing that Kentucky’s law was not discriminatory because straight people – not just LGBT people – could not marry a person of the same sex.
“Kentucky’s marriage laws treat homosexuals and heterosexuals the same and are facially neutral,” the lawyers argued in the filing. “Men and women, whether heterosexual or homosexual, are free to marry persons of the opposite sex under Kentucky law, and men and women, whether heterosexual or homosexual, cannot marry persons of the same sex under Kentucky law.”
Because that's how it works! :D
I find tumblr insignificant, overall, but yeah it's a soapbox network where (predominantly) the youth can vent. In the real world? If someone wants to bitch about discrimination, go on a rant, or put someone's prejudice in-check, I really am not bothered by it at all, as long as it's not about some vapid celebrity/fashion/entertainment shit. Indifference makes me more upset than being inconvenienced by having to listen to someone air their grievances out in public.
None of that makes the statement about tumblr being uppity any less valid.
Yeah, that comment was like 80% joking, 20% actually something to think about. I do think that there are times that bitching and "airing grievances" does more harm than good. But I also find myself agreeing with people like Morgan Freeman regarding racism - the only way to get past it is to stop focusing on it so much. That's why Race Together was a such a horribly stupid idea. We'll never get past the differences in races if all day every day people are all about race race race (or gay gay gay, gender gender gender, whatever the fuck their pet issue may be).
Apart from the numerous subsets of the population that are over 50%~ underemployment rates, double and triple homicide/imprisonment/suicide rates, you could have a point there. It's easy to ignore race if your life isn't directly affected by it (or you have enough money for it to only be a mere inconvenience). Race Together is bad because it's blatant worker exploitation, not any honest attempt to address problems.
My french teacher was a proto tumblrina she got mad when I kept misgendering a table
lmao.... yo, I bet there is some real fire coming from speakers that have debates on which male/female forms to use in their languages. I'd love get a front row seat to witness one of those trainwrecks.

"Every day? Most days, with ice cream. Early on, when my wife and I were dating, we went to the grocery store, and I told her that sometimes I just buy birthday cakes, and I eat them. And she said: 'Really? I do, too.'
"Even if it's not somebody's birthday? Yes. She went to the grocery store yesterday and picked up a white birthday cake."
he is a fucking madman
Not from a politician, but succinctly summarizes why they say stupid crap.
Frank Rich, comparing House of Cards to Veep: “Needless to say I am not objective and I feel that VEEP more accurately captures the DC I know. House of Cards can be quite entertaining and of course is very well acted. And for all the nastiness of its characters and events, it actually suggests things can get done in Washington, even if in a malevolent way. There’s something heroic about that. In VEEP, no one gets anything done, there’s no grandeur, and no competence, and no concern for the voters whatsoever. To me that’s the farce of Washington today.”
Seems accurate. I've watched a few episodes of VEEP and it def seems how DC runs for probably the better part of a decade.

Judge Rejects Anti-Mumia Law on Prisoner Speech as "Manifestly Unconstitutional"
North Korea interrupts defectors and stages a walk out in "surreal diplomatic spectacle" at the UN: https://news.vice.com/article/everyo...l-of-defectors …A federal judge has struck down a Pennsylvania law restricting the speech of prisoners, calling it "manifestly unconstitutional." The law was enacted after journalist and former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal, who is imprisoned in Pennsylvania, gave a pre-taped commencement address at Goddard College in Vermont. The law authorized the censoring of prisoners’ public addresses if judges agree letting them speak would cause "mental anguish" to people impacted by their crimes. Judge Christopher Conner called the law "unlawfully proposed" and "patently over-broad." Supporters of the law plan to appeal.
