In the video, Missouri State Representative Mike Moon cuts off the chicken's head and guts the animal on camera as he talks about going back for a special legislative session for the "primary purpose of supporting life."
Standing above the chicken covered in blood, Moon reaches inside the headless fowl, pulls out its heart and says, "I think we need to get the heart of the matter here. So today, I'm filing a bill that will lead to the stopping of abortion in the state of Missouri, and I hope you'll support it."
Moon's anti-abortion bill, the "Missouri Right to Life Act," states that personhood begins at conception, which would grant unborn children constitutional rights.

Christie (down to 15% approval rating) is trying to blame the democrats for wanting to use money to fight the opioid crisis. at government buildings/state-run properties throughout the state, signs are up blaming the state assembly leader (democrat); police have been telling people it is illegal to remove the signs or put up their own signs (some people wanted to put up signs blaming Christie for the shutdown, were told they would be fined if they did so)

all public parks and beaches closed for 4th of July weekend, many folks not happy

In California, the only popular Republican (the mayor of San Diego) has declined to run for governor, and because of the jungle primary system it could mean that the top two Democrats will run against each other for the November 6th 2018 election, which should really hurt the Republican House members who need Republican turnout to keep their seats.
